Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Seen a few articles blowing smoke up Spurs' arse because their U21s topped the league. I know I'm biased but surely the real story is the cash strapped League 1 team who are now in the semis and are offering a genuine path to 1st team football. From an outside perspective on Spurs, they seem to be ...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Royals and Racers F-T Spurs 3 Liverpool 3 - gone into extra time.
After ET 3-3 gone to pens.

Tottenham through on penalties. If we reach the final, it'll mean a trip to London (if I've understood the format correctly).

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

How much do we look into the success of the U21s this season? Will any of them be making the step-up to 1st team football? It seems on the face of it to be quite impressive for a League 1 U21 team to be doing so well. I'm not sure how much of a correlation there is between success at youth level an...

Fair play to the ref for booking that Forest player (#10) who was telling him to ‘oxf*rd off’. Didn’t think he was going to do it.

Re: Rival Watch

It's win:win. They lose on TV on their big night out. Or They go up and get humiliated most weeks for a year. I thought that Oxford now have pretty rich owners themselves - who can afford to build a new stadium for them!? I think they do. Certainly they fought off Championship interest for Brannaga...

Re: Rival Watch

This. Leicester, Leeds and Southampton would probably have the highest budgets in the Championship if no side had parachute payments - giving them PP completely destroys any chance of sides competing with them financially. And yet someone did compete with them Not financially. Ipswich weren't compe...

Re: Rival Watch

The three relegated sides nearly always have insanely higher budgets than the rest of the Championship. That’s what the parachute payments do. I understand the 3 coming down will have parachute payments, but Leicester, Leeds and Southampton felt like a new extreme when it came to financial disparit...

Loafer Have any team ever gone through an entire season including all cups without losing a single game?

Not since the introduction of European competitions apparently.

Pepe the Horseman
Clyde1998 97th minute equaliser for Leverkusen!! 8)

 ridiculous

Quality goal as well, especially the composure to beat his man before shooting.

Clyde1998 Leverkusen 1-0 down against Roma... Apparently Roma's keep has kept them in the game.

Re: The Retained List

Could understand getting rid of any of the three left backs but letting them all go is a big gamble. Leaves us with six senior defenders and one of them is Dean. Fwiw as I mentioned in another thread, I was sat near Carson's dad on Saturday and while he wasn't expecting him to be first choice next ...
