Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (a) sponsored by Neil Webb

I think we should go with the same team pretty much. They did well in the reverse fixture and were unlucky to concede. -----------------------Rafael Gunter---Morrison---Moore---Blackett -------------------------Pele ------------------Adam---Swift Meite--------------------------------------Ejaria --...

Matchday Review Part 1: The Day An early start. 10 am at the end of London Bridge. The Den is little under an hours walk away. But first, a bacon butty at Maria's Cafe, Borough Market. Bubble and squeak doing a roaring trade, so a mental note made. Brewery #1: Southwark Brewery https://whatpub.com/...

Re: BFTG Millwall Away

Just seen the highlights.

I know Keith Stroud has a rep,but how on earth did he miss that handball for the first goal.

Did seem a very fair result though.

Disappointed in Swift for his chance.

Puskas an apology of a footballer.

Strikers a total non event.
Swift and Ejaria hardly in the game.
Striker to hold the ball up ,desperately needed this month.

I note a lot of “selectors “ have ,left out Meite ?

How on earth did Millwall reach such dizzy heights ?

Re: BFTG - Forest

Surely the linesman is in the perfect position to see these things ? He was stood at the corner flag looking along the line, it’s his job to call these things. Conclusion would be that being correctly positioned and actively looking he got the call correct. Unless he didn’t. Glad you said linesman....

Re: BFTG - Forest

Interesting to read other supporters view on yesterday. IMHO Ref : I can usually count on one hand the number of decent refereeing performances during a season. We have been lucky the last couple of weeks,as in my view these refs were pretty good.Yesterday,I thought the Ref started OK,but the booking...

Re: BFTG - Forest

Didn’t quite know what to make of Forest. They put us under real pressure for 20 minutes 1st half, but we “largely” dominated the 2nd half, against supposedly a good side. IMHO Rafael 8 Again didn’t have a great deal to do fabulous save from Grab. Gunter 7 Typical Gunter performance, would be better if ...

Re: CONFIMRED - Pele

Just seen on Facebook, fans comparing Pele with Baker.

Different type of player,Baker just controls games,Pele better defensively.

Would love Baker back.Imagine this front six.

Pele

Baker Adam Swift

Baldock (or Meite ) Jao

Re: MATCHWATCH : Nottingham Forest (h) sponsored by James Lambert

Got to be careful of Forest. Read on their forum that they’ve not lost one second half yet this season. Added to that they haven’t dropped a single point away from home taking the lead, it’ll be a difficult game. Would go with the usual XI but bench competition fierce Rafael Gunter Morrison Moore B...

Re: Watching games via ifollow

The red button has its downside;no replay, one camera, poor commentary;however it is better than the radio commentary and certainly does the job.

I am amazed Sky brought it in.

Re: Reading players out of contract in summer 2020

I am told Baker is back at Chelsea.
Strange he has played his best football at Reading.
Maybe like Ovie he likes to be close to home.
I would have him back in a heartbeat.
To be honest given the available funds wouldn’t be interested in anyone else.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Well done FDTW for once again educating some of these tossers on the merits of life away from the South-East. Having lived away from Reading for so much longer than the first 24 years of my life I see Reading as the ugly girlfriend-I love her but nobody else can see the attraction. A town that only...

Re: Opposition fans back from the game

Liverpool and Manchester have fantastic public transport networks and certainly being by the coast means Liverpool doesn't get as cold. Liverpool and Manchester are thriving economically. Having lived in both, I prefer Liverpool because the people are nicer but they're both fantastic cities. Well d...

Re: BFTG - Blackpool

Well I thought that was alright. Quite entertaining. 4 goals, missed penalty. Felt we were very comfortable until they scored against the run of play. If we’d scored early, then I think we might have scored 3 or 4. But we didn’t. Howe was decent enough but tired. Burley was OK on his senior debut f...

Re: BFTG - Blackpool

Did he introduce himself as Steve Smith, Company Director? What company? His point was that in his company where he is the director (he presumably makes presentations, maybe a motivational speaker - who knows), that if people paid to hear him talk, they would be disappointed and it would be unfair ...

Re: BFTG - Blackpool

If the phone caller was, say a plumber, you would have most likely said “there’s some guy (or bloke) on the radio says we should have picked the first team”. So was the problem really in what he said, or the fact he was a company director? Just asking. I think he was trying to compare running his c...
