Re: Poll - Adkins In or Out

I voted out on the basis that our displays have lacked desire for a while now and I don't believe the players are behind him. That being said I'm happy for him to be given January to try and sort the defence out, although I think our system is the problem, not the players, we are far too open as a t...

Re: RUMOUR - Jamie Mackie

Mackie is the most exciting link so far for me. Better than all the other forwards we've been linked to and has the pace and work rate to cause all teams problems.

Re: Back From The Game - Bolton

What a performance today, full of power, pace and energy. It was an absolute joy to watch and I'm proud of the lads work rate and commitment. Jobi, McCleary, Akpan and Williams were the driving force for this, their work rate coupled with power and pace bullied Bolton into submission and I don't kno...

Re: 2013 Summer Transfer Window Deadline Day

I don't know why I'm bothering to follow TDD, everyone we are going to sign will be free agents anyway so the deadline won't matter to us. No doubt we'll announce a couple of freebies signed during the international break over the next couple of weeks... If not then the club look extremely naive and...

Re: The real big cock-ups

Before the current regimes time but when Gary Cahill was made available by Villa I was devastated to hear that we didn't pursue him. Given we were struggling in the prem and Sonko had suffered a bad injury I thought he would be an ideal signing, but he ended going to fellow relegation strugglers Bol...

Re: How long will Adkins last???

Sack him. I hope this is a joke. If not it is really sad. Most of our 'fans' are jokes. Yes things aren't going to plan immediately but give the extremely successful manager we have got, at least a couple of full seasons, AT LEAST. Sack him and then what, get Poyet in, he tries to play football, we...

Re: Is Adkins another Brendan Rogers?

It takes years to change the philosophy of a club, please everyone have patience and at least give the guy a couple of full seasons. Rashly chopping and changing the manager will not help us in the long run.

Re: RUMOUR - Carlton Cole

Disagree, Adam Le Fondre is a goal scorer, he isn't what we need. We need power and pace upfront to stretch teams, give us an outlet and hold the ball up. Our squad has got plenty of goals in it, we've just got no focal point to pin teams back in their half. In my opinion a Carlton Cole or Cameron J...

Re: RUMOUR - Carlton Cole

What's his goal record like in the championship? He's been promoted at least once (twice I think) and been one of the leagues top players. He's also bagged double figures and assist's to go with that consistently in the champ.

If any team in the champ gets Carlton Cole they will be stronger for it.

Royals1871J
JS28ZoD Carlton Cole is far better than any of our current strikers and on a free this would be a relatively low risk move.

High wages?

Lower risk than high wages and a decent sized fee required for his level of quality, if you compare what package would be required for Cameron Jerome for example.

Re: BFTG - Bolton (a)

On a side note, I thought the fans that went today made a good effort, it was just a shame that there were only 600 or so of us. One day we'll become a big club and regularly sell out our away allocation, it might not be right now but either way these are exciting times! How much was a ticket for t...

Re: BFTG - Bolton (a)

What a great game, well worth the trip! It's a pleasure to watch your team dominate possession and bully the opposition, especially in the second half. The final piece of the jigsaw is a powerful, pacey centre forward in my opinion. Mac - 8 solid saves, didn't put a foot wrong Gunter - 6 some good p...

Re: Football Rumours Shoite thread

Completely forgot about Maynard, he was quality a few years ago and still must be at a good age. He has bags of pace and can finish, we definitely are missing a pacey forward and so I'd be happy if this one turned out to be true.

I'm hopeful that this will be completed soon but there is only one reason all of this has been leaked to the press, so that the agent can try and drum up other interest. Lets hope that our offer remains the most attractive, it would be the most exciting signing we've made in my lifetime!

Re: Chris Gunter to Cardiff

I'd be very disappointed if we lost Gunter. Granted he didn't have a great season last year but he has proven quality at championship level and given his age, I'm confident he can be a solid premier league RB for years to come. especially if he is playing under a quality manager which I believe we a...
