Re: Black History Month, Favourite Black Reading Player.

Players eligible for neither side: Al-Habsi, De La Cruz, Karacan, Kebe (?), Hurtado, Seol, Husin + the Korean kids. Only need one more to get us to a full team (four more if you don't include kids who never played for us). Anyone I'm missing? Naseem Bashir ----------------Al-Habsi------------------...

Re: Something to cheer us up

Norfolk Royal Pretty safe to say the South Bank got 'taken' that day I would imagine.

Judging from the sound on the footage, that must've happened before kick-off!

Re: Looking forward

Well if that's Murty's response and unless there is some content missing we may as well give up now, not only as a club but as a sport. Why would you not want to show passion? Often I hear grumbles of the atmosphere and agree it's not the best, but one thing that would lift it, would be if we had e...

Re: Dislike ex-Reading players

Strangely didn't care much for Sanchez or Doyle on their returns. It was more their nonchalance at us/being back than anything.

Re: Robin Friday

It struck me looking at the line-up what an attacking, but lightweight midfield, we had out that night/at the time.

Presumably

Turner

Henderson - Hetzke - Youlden - Moreline (as you'd expect)

Murray - Carnaby - Dunphy

Friday - Hiron - Nelson

2 of Minty's hat trick were pens? IIRC.

Re: Robin Friday

Yeah it was after his second; scored close range.

Brilliant photo though which also encapsulated his no shin-pad, ankle rolled sock regime, nicely caricatured here also by Dennis Nelson!

He received GBH nearly every game; yet hardly ever missed a game, ever through injury.

Those were the days!

Lenny The Tramp Like that linked article Strap.

Did Lincoln really have 5,000 fans at Elm Park for that game? That's some following for such a long trip.

Ian Branfoot was playing for Lincoln that day.

Re: Don't be idiots and boo on Saturday

If the OP is urging fans NOT to boo on Saturday, then shouldn't the title of the thread be

"Don't be idiots. Don't boo on Saturday"?

As it reads it is suggests fans should (boo)

Confused

Just wondering James (Woodley-RFC), what's happened to Dave? Have you locked him up in a cupboard somewhere?

Nice to see your grammar and spelling are improving.

Good work lad. Now intelligence next eh?

Bradford to score first.

Re: BFTG - Bradford

A lowly (and media highlighted) 50% passing completion rate for both teams on that pitch was commendable. A more accomplished footballing team would have faired far worse (under the circumstances) than we - or they - did. Sitting lineslide, as I was, the pitch was a testament to 18 Century ridge and...

Regretably only played a hand full of times for us and suffered his career ending injury away at Roker Park. Terrific shame. Terrific footballer and I hope this is supported the way it should be. Paul is an erudite stalwart for fairness and equality, without seeking self promoting publicity. A top m...
