Re: Reading v Burton Albion Match Thread

A very profesional performance against woeful opposition and some good goals. Saturdays game could shape our season. Will the kids freeze in front of 40000 + geordies! Although very early days, Saturdays game could give a good indicator of what the season holds. Still slightly concerned that we are ...

Re: Team for the Toon

HRK, Davies and Pearce we're the three best players yesterday. Perhaps Kebe should make way. Apart from the odd burst of pace, he's bloody awful. Can we please not start the Kebe bashing again. I like HRK but he did feck all yesterday, but at least Kebe looked dangerous. He created more than Kebe. ...

Re: NEWSFLASH: Twin Strikers on the way.............

absolutely hilarious! I thought Ray Wilkins was the master of the 'crab' and sideways/backwards pass until I witnessed Saturday's game.

This style will definitely take a while to get used to but hopefully with a bit of tinkering here and there will yield some positive results in the weeks ahead.

Re: Back From The Game - Nottm Forest

Bored bored to be honest. Its thats 'pure' football for the technicians then fine, But I judge a game on shots on targets and to be honest neither keeper was really troubled, Every 'attack' seemed the same with lots of clever passing and possession but no end product, On that performance Church is n...

Re: Rodgers needs two to complete jigsaw - from The Chronic

I suspect there is very little apathy in supporters' minds at the moment. I don't know how many RFC fans you speak to or know personally, I know a fair few. Of those I have spoken to, there is a general air of resignation about our short to medium term prospects. One or two I know - long term fans ...

Re: The Unruined Tommy Smith RUMOUR Thread

Are we going to sign the fecker or what? We'll be lucky to see another couple of youngsters on loan, yet alone Smith. Madjeski is clearly out to pocket all he can and run the club on a shoestring. I predict lots of fast flowing football with nice movement off the ball but with no cutting edge unles...

Just waiting for the, 'we are happy with what we've got' comment from Hammond. Total Joke and taking us supporters who have supported the club for over 40 years for total mugs!!

Re: Rodgers needs two to complete jigsaw - from The Chronic

Just one small concern. If the big gamble on youth players doesn't work this season do we think that the £11 million of parachute money plus the money from sales of Doyle and possibly others will be set aside for buying players next summer? I wish I could believe that would be the case but regretta...

Re: Could we be involved in a relegation battle?

As Madejski has cut the cloth to the bear threads there is only one way our club is going …….. and it isn’t up. FFS the clubs transfer targets are kiddy loan players at best and puppet Hammond can't even secure them  . When we are in peril come January the excuse not to buy anyone will be no ...

Re: Rodgers needs two to complete jigsaw - from The Chronic

don't worry, yet more 'spin' from the club in today's EP---'Church is the new Doyle' The tedious outpouring of 'cutting our cloth accordingly' and lack of significant investment in the team in some quality exerience is beginning to become a bit tiresome. I'mexcited about the young talent we have, bu...

Re: Striker for 4-5-1/4-3-3

Does anyone honestly expect Church, Long or NHunt to score 20 goals next season---i don't. It doesn't matter what system you play, unless you have got a natural goal scorer in your squad that can guarantee you that sort of goal tally, you won't be challenging for honours. Hence the signing of an exp...

Re: How long do you think Mr Rodgers will last at RFC from 22/07

If, as it seems, Rodgers hands are tied financially in the transfer market and on player's wages and no more 'significant' signings are made before the season starts, then I think everyone will look forward to seeing the kids play and a new style of football. If results go against us and we start st...

Re: Sshh! It's how we operate.

This sounds very feasible. And probably quite sensible for Madejski. Sadly we could well drift off into obscurity .. unless the new manager is the miracle worker that everyone is hoping for. I agree it could all go horribly wrong, but also giving youth a chance with a blend of experience is a good ...

Re: RUMOUR - Tommy Smith

So, should I read this Tommy Smith thread or the other one? :? I wouldn't bother with either as this deal will never happen unless we stump up a reasonable and not derisory offer for him. Get used to the fact that we will start the season with Church or Long up front and a makeshift centre back pai...

I think you'll find clubs like Birmingham etc are in huge but managiable debt, where as Mr Mad won't have it. Look the facts are these, SC "the messiah" totally fcuked up the last 2 seasons and now it's us the fans who have to pay by watching the club having to cut costs and reduce transf...

cabt agree with that- team of the season was voted for in feb wasnt it? when his prexmas form was still fresh in the memory, and that form was pretty awesome. regarding attitude-people say he stopped playing after jan, but i didnt see that, i just saw a man who had alot on his mind, and maybe tried...
