Re: Second season success stories

He will not be here next season, FACT. Why do you say that, got proof? Or is this another one of your "facts"? Bowen has obviously ran out of patience with him and we are still at a stage where we can command a decent fee for him. He doesn't suit our style of play, fairly obvious really. ...

Re: CONFIMRED - Felipe Araruna

Sure, but just 20 of those in the last two years. And how did he get a work permit? By not needing one as he has dual nationality ? Will this stop being a thing tomorrow when we are free from the evil clutches of the EU and their despicable laws ? No, the exact opposite. Will no longer be able to t...

Re: Rumour - the first of the Brazilians ?

Following the apparent appointment of Senor Mattos... @TalkReading tweeted Reading have held talks with São Paulo about signing Brazilian midfielders Felipe Araruna and Igor Liziero, the latter would cost €7 million #readingfc Just the likely work permit restrictions to work out then. I thought I r...

Pele 10 - definitely winning most improved player of the year, superb That's a bold claim to make after 1 match...... It’s not been one match, he was excellent against QPR. HE’s the sort of player you don’t notice when he is doing well but errors and off days really show up as he plays in such a pi...

Re: Weekend Football

It isn't nonsense. Referees are entitled to change their mind - you highlight that Atkinson ran over to Son with a yellow for the cynical foul. It almost immediately became clear to him that Son's tackle was actually 'serious foul play', because it had endangered the safety of his opponent, since t...

Re: BFTG Preston (H)

That was not a Gomes performance...with Gomes in charge we would probably have lost that game by conceding a soft goal through a defensive lapse.

The defence looked far more solid and comfortable with the more direct style of play.

At the moment we aren’t sticking the chances away, but at least we are creating them. The goals will come and the defence isn’t doing too bad.

Hound Is he the only one who left today or have I missed some others going?

Tom Holmes has gone to KSV Roeselare

Hope he gets his wages paid

Wages are paid by the parent club, with the loan club paying the parent club the wages they are contributing. So RFC have the risk, not Holmes.

John Smith
Maneki Neko
John Smith True.

Anyway, the food is obviously first class but I think the queues make it pointless. Anyone disagree?

yes. massively

I've been thinking about this one over the weekend again for quite some time and I've decided Blue-collar Streetfood goes

Thankfully your decision counts for nothing.

Re: Blue-collar streetfood

Hendo Noticed that John the Greek was doing a roaring trade.

It was but the queue was mostly due to the time it took to make the orders. They had the same issue with the burrito stand against Chelsea.

Re: CONFIMRED - Lucas Boye

I assume tomorrow is too soon for him. My biggest concern is things like cultural adaptation to Championship and language barrier with rest of the squad. Manage that well and it looks like a very exciting signing. He’s Brazilian isn’t he ? So speaks Portuguese ? We must have someone at the club who...

Re: CONFIMRED - Lucas Boye

If he is to be used more on the left wing, then it frees up Barrow to play centrally more frequently. Also adds more fluidity to our front line with most of the players being able to play anywhere across the attacking positions.

All this does is go to show how little Ian knows about football. Quite hilarious considering how he is the most vocal and condescending about it. Completely agree, I don't post on here much any more but I have made a couple recently and he has responded in an arrogant manner claiming to know everyt...

Re: Are we still heading for a 9pt deduction?

My understanding is that Birmingham were also under a soft embargo, but they broke it - hence the 9 point deduction (they bought in Pederson for over 2 mill and didn't sell anybody - previous season they bought 17 mill of players and sold 4 mill). If we breach FFP, but are seen to be trying to do t...

Re: Are we still heading for a 9pt deduction?

I would imagine the soft embargo was imposed as the EFL consider that last seasons trading may result in RFC exceeding the £39m losses allowed over the last 3 year period. Although this has been lifted it seems the club are only signing loan players or free transfers. Remember Birmingham only had t...

Re: Any more out the door?

Take the examples of Popa, Baldock and Meyler and there are certainly indications around that they aren't willing to take paycuts, or require their contract paid up in full to leave. No such suggestions for Gunter. McCleary has a poor injury record. But if Gunter was as good as claimed, he'd be wor...

Re: Any more out the door?

Surprised Gunter is still here. Must be wage related as he’s suit a lower end Champ club or top end L1. Meyler apparently has lots of interest in L2 but is said to be holding out for L1. Think both will be gone before deadline day. But of one in the eye for all those who said Gunter was brilliant. ...
