This Sunday sees Reading Futsal Club take on five times national futsal league champions Helvecia Futsal in a pre-season friendly at London Valley Leisure Centre (14:00). With the recent discussions on the whether the FA should introduce this game to youths in this country to bring us up to speed wi...

Re: 2011/12 SEASON BETTING THREAD

Llorente was this seasons most prolific Spanish striker both at home in La Liga and en route to the Europa League Final. Therefore, in the absence of the injured David Villa, I would expect Llorente to start or play in the majority of Spain's matches. Finger crossed though that he is fit!

Re: 2011/12 SEASON BETTING THREAD

In light of England's impending epic fail at Euro 2012, I thought I'd make the tournament a bit more enjoyable for myself by having a bit of a flutter. Therefore I've backed: Germany outright winners - £20.00 @ 10/3 Llorente top goalscorer - £10.00 @ 18/1 Poland and Russia to win today - £10.00 @ 3....

Re: SPECULATION - Gylfi on sale for £6m

When we sold Gylfi were we shrewd enough to negotiate a sell-on fee, and if so how much would we stand to gain should his £6.8m move to Swansea go ahead?

Re: Season Tick Renewal - What's Going On!

The club's attitude towards its most loyal supporters is absolutely disgraceful. This sort of treatment is the exact reason why I gave up my season ticket of twelve years during the summer and no longer watch the team play. I now coach a team in the Reading Football League and the enjoyment and invo...

ESPN's free weekend

For this weekend ESPN will be free-to-air allowing all now-subscribers a chance to watch the channel from Friday 10th - Sunday 12th September. Coincidentially The Sig is due to make his debut on Friday evening infront of the ESPN cameras as Hoffenheim take on Schalke. Then on Saturday morning Hamilt...

Re: Some background about Hoffenheim

Excellent post and some very interesting information, thanks for sharing. I took great interest in Hoffenheim when they first won promotion to Bundesiga 1 a few years ago, while I had Setanta TV's coverage. As much as I agree to some extent that they have bought their success, it'll be good if they ...

Re: Non - League thread 2010/11

Last Tuesday I took in Maidenhead United miserable display at York Road, going down 3-0 to a young. well organised Braintree Town. For anyone who is interested I've updated my blog at http://berkshop.blogspot.com/ . My next foray into the Non-League scene will probably be this Tuesday's fixture at S...

Re: Non - League thread 2010/11

With my Saturday afternoon's now dedicated to coaching Woodley Hammers in the Reading Football League, visits to the Mad Stad and Scours Lane are going be alot more scarce than previous seasons. Therefore my visits will mainly be under the floodlights during the midweek fixtures. I've enjoyed my enc...

Re: Non - League thread 2010/11

FA Cup magic for me today in the form of the extra premliminary round tie at Stubb's Lane; Binfield v Crawley Down. This being my first in ten years without an RFC season ticket due to coaching commitments. Therefore I'm intending to hop around as many Non League grounds in Berkshire as and when I c...

Re: Non - League thread 2010/11

An excellent initiative has been setup to get more football supporters along to see their local Non League side next month. Saturday 4th September will see no Premier League or Championship fixtures being played as its an international week, so fans of those clubs have been invited along to their lo...

The Football League Show

Whilst I am thankful that the BBC hold the rights for the Football League highlights package after enduring years of the awful and predicatable ITV offering of The Championship. I will say that I'm slightly miffed that tonight they have decided upon showing extended highlights of Leeds v Derby as th...

Re: England v Hungary - squad and match thread

Couldn't care less. An international the week before the season starts for these players? Bonkers. Completely agreed. Yet again another ridiculous FIFA-endorsed international friendly where most struggle to muster any interest. Was looking forward to a less than half full Wembley "welcoming&qu...

Re: England v Hungary - squad and match thread

Glad to see Fabio has the balls to drop the old guard as only 10 of the 23 World Cup wallies survive. I think the squad is a little harsh on Joe Cole however and would have included him in the place of Ashley Young. Perhaps the inclusion of the younger players will make viewing more bearable and I'd...
