Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

Rino's not really the player you throw on to help get a goal, he's someone you go to for holding on to a lead. Blackburn away. I just don’t think Doyle is working for us Still would rather see him playing cdm and Wing and Savage further forward where they can cause damage I agree with this, nothing...

I'm looking forward to the still possible, mouth watering match-up between New Caledonia & Uzbekistan on the biggest stage.

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

This salary cap crap has been bad for sport in the US. The strongest player’s union is Major League Baseball’s and they’ve been fighting against it tooth and nail for years. Ask who wants it? It’s the millionaire/billionaire owners. It’s not about competitive balance (which it’s absolutely not achie...

Re: New Owners - Redwood Watch

So, following on from Rob’s chat with Darragh MacAnthony it seems the L1 owners have got together and written to Rick Parry about how to “improve” the Football League fair play system. Plans suggested are to set every club in a division with the same playing budget and if clubs break it they then w...

Re: Rival Watch

I would imagine Wednesday are about as well insulated against it as you can get. Even if you tear it all down to a bunch of academy guys and not a lot else they’ve got a significant baseline of support and attendance that have already proven that they’ll show at this level, well beyond what we could...

Re: Ashqar Ahmed

Had a great game where everything fell for him. It’s good to know it’s in the locker but he’s been found out since. Breda should be sharing time with Yiadom and Ahmed should be cover when one is injured. Big lad but too easily dominated. Seemingly terrified to take his man on. Decent defensively bu...

Re: Which team have we had the most memorable matches against?

Sheffield United for me. The matches between 2002-2007 were box office stuff. Our record against them matches our wider fortunes. When we were good, we beat them all the time. Then in 2017, after a few seasons apart, they started beating us consistently and we've been shit ever since. Smashed them ...

Re: Injury watch 2025/26

Don’t know if it’s true but overheard someone at the Mansfield game talk about how they had seen O’Connor the week before outside a ground and he had told them that in coming back from his initial calf injury he had tweaked the other one.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Mansfield Town (h)

I think Lane has a spark but is played too high and central, and has no faith in the headless chicken that is Jacob running around behind him. Ahmed won’t take anyone on which is frustrating. Burns has his balls-up but was so busy distributing, he’a getting better. Savage had flashes of his old self...

Re: What was the last player that you were gutted that left/sold

I perhaps get a bit overly attached to good goalkeepers. Most of my ‘gutted they’re leaving’ moments have been over them.

Hahnemann, Federici, McCarthy, so the last one that was a real a gut wrench was Ali Al-Habsi. Helps he was an affable chap too.

Hound . I just see him a useful sub for 20 mins to cause a bit of havoc

I’d imagine something like this is the plan once Ritchie is up to full match fitness.
