Re: MATCHWATCH : Brighton & Hove Albion (a) sponsored by Tinsmiths everywhere

Despite the loss on Tuesday, I still believe it is all very much to play for. Beat Brighton and I think they may crumble psychologically, for us mentally it would be huge going into the games against Wolves and Newcastle who btw have lost Dwight Gayle for a month so no main focal striker in their si...

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

So we have Kermogant who is a line leader, we have Samuels, Rakells who are different, and we have Meite who looks different again. What are we looking for ? Kermie doesn't score enough and is old. So back up / replacement for him. If you look at Kermorgant's record since last January, he's played ...

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

Bit of a gamble I know and also unlikely to pay his fee and wages, but purely for his pace and physique Cameron Jerome.

Would make a nuisance of himself and would be a great lone striker in our system.

Re: Anyone For Chinese?

Now that the Tiago deal has gone through, does this mean we have made progress with the takeover or was this deal always going to happen regardless?

Looks like we have been waiting on a green light before we could confirm the deal in black and white.

Any news on the deal?

Surely the JS timebomb has well and truly started ticking now.

One of either 2-1 Reading or 3-1 Reading

QPR will make it hard for us but I think over the 90 minutes our quality will pull us through.

Re: BFTG - United (A)

The boys tried and it was always going to be a step too far lets be honest. Far too much respect shown in the first 20 minutes, it needed Williams to smash Fellaini before everyone decided to battle for the ball. When Kermorgant does pull out wide with the ball, we need to start getting players in t...

Re: Rumour - Tiago Ilori

If it happens this would be a very clever bit of business by Jaap Will be comfortable on the ball being a Rodgers signing and I think can play cb and also cdm. I think VDB is very suspect on the ball in midfield at times so may be a place in there for Tiago but it would be harsh on Evans. If it's a ...

Re: BFTG - Norwich home

You see this bit I don't buy. Norwich were on top but we were starting to get a foothold again. The handball basically stopped us scoring anyway (and you could argue that none of the players involved in the scramble stopped until the ball was in the goal anyway), so without it we would have been 2-...

Once again got away with one, up until the red card Norwich were all over us and I think they would have gone on to score another the way the game was going. You see this bit I don't buy. Re: Pure Speculation - Tshibola

Its a no brainer, knows the club well, knows the players well and would settle in straight away. Already does the holding midfield role and would know his role straight away in a Jaap Stam side. Would rather take him in, have him hit the ground running than taking in Mutch (also a great player but ...

Re: Sheff Wed Predictions

2-0 Reading - We make hard work of it and have a couple of let offs in the first half before a lucky break such as a penalty or red card.

Don't care how we do it, we need the win and maximum effort from all of the 11 playing (we looked like a hungover Sunday league team last week)

Bad day at the office all round But big shout out to the idiots/idiot "ultra wannabe ambassadors of Stone Island" at the top row of the stand who started kicking off at eachother. Saw someone's hat get thrown down the stand and allegedly this same guy also got elbowed and spat at (didn't s...

Centre midfield vs Sheff Wed

Interested to hear people's thoughts on how we line up against Sheff Wed in central midfield I feel as though Liam Kelly should be given a chance in the 10 role or even CDM very good on the ball and keeps things ticking nicely. My central midfield 3 would be: Evans Van Den Berg Kelly Alternatively s...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Aston Villa (h) sponsored by a Terry Bell own goal

This was a game where I would have taken a point before KO. Villa's travelling support were brilliant considering this was a week day game and the rubbish they have had to put up with over the last year or so. Stam has got it right for the majority of our games this season tactically but tonight he ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h) sponsored by Nick, Matty & Alex

Overall, looked a little more solid than we did Tuesday night and glad we haven't crumbled as we did last year. IMO it was always going to be a difficult game given the current situation at Derby so I would take this as a good point. No one really stood out for us today other than a few good moments...

Re: BFTG - Brentford (a)

First of all great support from all the fans loud throughout the entire game. I think any other night those chances go in off the post and the game has a completely different outcome. It's important we bounce back this Saturday and don't start to crumble like we did last year. Glad Kermogant stepped...

Players in and around the first team picture needing game time (Brighton)

Would be interested to hear people's thoughts on who they would like to see in the side facing Brighton tomorrow night. Whilst we have many players gradually working their way into future first team contention (e.g Liam Kelly), I would also be of the view that this game is an opportunity for a coupl...
