Re: SIGNED - Danny Guthrie

Melons is right in my opinion. Championship is all about lots of players charging at you. Prem is more about shape. You also get more time IN the ball, because the football in the top flight is the size of a Gladiators Atlasphere. The top end premiership players are able to create themselves the ti...

lol all you like. you do.

I'll lol all the more. It's utter bollocks.

I think you're going to be very disappointed next season if you think the team can waltz the ball through teams at a leisurely pace.

To Boney M's Rasputin

Pa Pa Pogrebnyak
Lover of Reading's contract
We had Alf & Hunt when he came along

Pa Pa Pgrebnyak
Focal point of the attack
He's like Ivan Drago all big and strong

Those Russians.

Re: SIGNED - Danny Guthrie

melonhead
he's not much defensively and is at his best when allowed to spray passes around. He was ridiculously good in the Championship as he had ample time on the ball to do just that.

u get more time on the ball in the prem imo

Like hell you do. :lol;

  Please give up mate. Please. Only been having a bit of banter so to speak. On a serious note i happen to know someone who is very close to someone at the club and the other day i had a message saying Rhodes would be staying at the club for one more season. Who knows what the outcome wil...

Re: RUMOUR - Danny Simpson

He's been the starting RB for the past 3 seasons and overall has done very well but still divides opinion amongst the Newcastle fans. I like him, he's no 'billy big bollocks' - he's earning pittance (10k p/w) compared to the other first teamers and just wants a parity in wages, which is kind of fair...

Royalwaster But he's not exactly a 'billionnaire' is he?

Are you seriously complaining that the guy who is seemingly going about keeping the club on a stable financial footing and financing moves for players like Pogrebnyak and Guthrie isn't rich enough?

Re: SIGNED - Danny Guthrie

Guthrie's a player who needs someone like Legs alongside him to do the dirty work and win the ball. He was a bit crap whenever he was played alongside Cabaye or to sit deeper as it severely restricted his game - he's not much defensively and is at his best when allowed to spray passes around. He was...

Re: English players at RFC - do you care?

I don't really think that British players really want to play anywhere else than in the Premiership. Can you see Jack Wilshere wanting to play for Barcelona? Nah, Owen never wanted to play in Spain either .. I think any player Barca/RM sign would be foolish to turn down the chance. Owen went to RM ...

Re: RUMOUR - Luke Young

Would be better off signing Connolly if signing QPR rejects is the policy. The logic behind that being?????? Connolly couldn't get in the team ahead of Young (who you class as a cast off), so why would you want him?! Neither are good enough for this level but Connolly is the younger so would...

Re: RUMOUR - Luke Young

Not sure Luke Young would be a very sensible signing. He barely kept QPR in the league so don't see why he should be starting ahead of Cummings! Actually that is a good reason to sign him. He was part of a squad that did stay in the EPL. It is a team sport and RFC above many I have seen in many a y...

Re: SPECULATION - Gylfi on sale for £6m

Of all the two clubs to be heavily linked with one of my favourite Reading players, it just has to be Liverpool and Spurs. As much as it'd be amazing to see him play for Reading again, I don't think he'd see it as the right move for him unfortunately so I won't be getting any hopes up. (Would...

Re: RUMOUR - Luke Young

Not really new! He is 32 Yep, and Griffin is 33. Was making a point about journeyman right-backs at the end of their careers. They were both average RBs in their day! Okay I see ya point FYP. Not sure Luke Young would be a very sensible signing. He barely kept QPR in the league so don't see why he ...

Re: Can you see us in the Champions league?

Newcastle gave it a good go last season even against big spenders, it will be tough as there are now six big hitters there in man u, citeh, spurs, arsenal, liverpool and chelsea, we would need to bypass three of them to get a spot but AND I STRESS there should be no limit to our ambitions that shou...

Firstly hello, I'm a Newcastle and Reading supporter (wtf?). But I'm local (I walk to the Mad Stad for games) and have had a season ticket since Reading were in the old Division 2. So I guess I'm some despicable hybrid plastic fan (score draw in both games this season and I'll still be able to keep ...
