Re: Euro 2012 - Knockout Stages

Maybe it's better to concede now than be walked all over by the Germans.

Re: Goal-line technology

The rules of the game state that if all of the ball goes over the line it's a goal. Personally can't see a problem with having technology that assists here. Presumably if similar to Hawk-Eye used in tennis then the technology would exist purely to signal when the ball passes the line and would make ...

Re: Euro 2012 - Group Stages

You must be one of those stupid ignorant England fans you were talking about on another thread Shades. This might help. so the chances when you factor in our mental strength are very limited against those two. as might this. A little tongue in cheek. Apologies... There was me thinking you'd said we...

I think we can beat anyone... Spain play in a way we can't deal with and Germany are too ruthless for us An impartial observer would be forgiven for thinking you haven't got a clue what you're talking about. Only when reading a selectively cropped quote with the context setting final part removed. ...

Re: England fans "unsettling" Crusader costumes

He makes the completely ridiculous assumption that the average England fan actually realises they are wearing a crusader costume and has the foggiest idea of the symbolism he suggests it invokes,

Re: Players having heart attacks

Possibly similar to the guy who died in the marathon. He was a regular runner and pretty fit. He died of a heart condition which, as I understand, is difficult to diagnose and usually only detected once it's too late, i.e. the person's dropped down dead.

Re: Bouncers of the Championship?

When the heat gets turned up, it's the passion to succeed for those playing with you, for your manager and your fans that pulls you through. Reading have that in spades but the real question remains do the Hammers? I suspect not and I'm betting on David to topple Goliath at Upton Park for that very...

You'll be able to back that up with journal-published peer-reviewed studies, of course. These two meta-analyses: K. Masters, G. Spielmans, J. Goodson "Are there demonstrable effects of distant intercessory prayer? A meta-analytic review." Annals of Behavioral Medicine 2006 Aug;32(1):21-6 ...

Re: Small car wanted...

Admiral deal with multi-car policies on a named driver basis and each driver has an individual NCB. There are mixed reviews but then that's probably true of most insurers.

This makes interesting reading:

Re: WANTED: Kayak

Went to Berkshire Canoes today and tried out a couple of boats - Axiom and Karnali. Having tried both I realised I will have far more fun in a lower volume boat. So come the weekend this will be my new weapon of choice: http://www.brighton-canoes.co.uk/productpages/dagger/pictures/dagger-axiom-l.jpg

Re: WANTED: Kayak

dan19 Jut brought a new Kayak 8) Little bit more expensive than what you're looking for!

I've decided I'm going to get a new one now so I'll use my current boat as the spare. Not quite decided what yet but probably going to go for a Pyranha Kharnali with the connect 30 kit.

Nice boat Dan!

Nice try but, edible or not, if you eat it, it's gone.

Re: WANTED: Kayak

Thanks but not looking to pay that much. Only want something like an old Dancer or Master. Not too bothered about the condition, as long as it's watertight, as I only want it as a second boat for taking friends out for short paddles on the Thames.

Anyone got an old kayak kicking about that they don't want? I'm prepared to pay up to about £50 quid for a half decent plastic one. TA
