Re: Next seasons kit choice?

I was having a discussion with my mates the other day about whether top clubs have to pay suppliers for their kits or whether it's seen as a form of sponsorship. I thought that in the Prem and probably all of football league that teams probably get their stuff for free - but my mates were sceptical....

Re: Season tickets 2013/14

Fair enough, wrong on that one, but it should be pointed out that season tickets will make up a considerably lower proportion of Bayern's revenue than they will for ours next season. No argument on that one. That's always the way, though - the higher up you are the greater the proportion of money t...

Re: Season tickets 2013/14

Sensible pricing. I think they would struggle pricing above the £400 barrier and have to give renewals a bit of a discount so £375 and £395 are their only realistic choices.

Good to see the club being sensible though!

Oh, and IN.

Re: Season tickets 2013/14

Season ticket prices will remain exactly the same, most likely. They're hardly going to charge more for us being in the Championship and as prices didn't rise when we went up I don't think they're morally obliged to put them down when we go down (therefore they won't). I also doubt that the number ...

Re: How does the parachute payment works

So - are we absolutely sure that Reading get the bigger parachute payments? Because I keep hearing comments in the media which suggest otherwise.

Re: Did anyone else not realise we were relegated?

I must admit that I didn't realize either. I looked at the table before the game and thought that a draw could keep us up on goal difference - didn't spot that villa were playing wigan. I don't think my mates realized either as they were all saying "at least we're not relegated until monday&quo...

On the positive side (for some) there's been a lack of goal music at the mad stad for few months

Re: Anton speaks at length

Personally I think that a lot of fans and people at the club have lost perspective. At the start of last season, just after the Watford home game, there was a lot of mumbling that Reading could get relegated from the Championship. We were that bad. However McDermott was able to make a few shred sign...

Re: Season tickets 2013/14

I aint clicking on shit. Can you enlighten us all? The link is genuine. Basically the Seattle Sounders have released membership cards which can also be used as pre-payment/loyalty card in the ground. So you swipe to enter, like at the Mad stad, but you can also use it to buy food/drink and other st...

Re: We are down. So next season who stays and who goes?

Realistically I can see almost any player leaving in the summer. Except some such as Akpan, Blackman. Almost every player is either 1. Going to think they can play at a higher level and so jump at a move or 2. Be out of favour with Adkins/ not good enough and leave. Some more likely than others. I ...

I was thinking about it but that price has made my decision pretty easy. OUT.

If clubs are now just going to treat us as customers I'm not going to feel bad about avoiding the Tuesday night trips in November.

Re: Season tickets 2013/14

Expect the normal RFC cobblers - "we are pleased to announce that season ticket prices will be held at the current prices for 2013/2014 season" Then comes the bit about improving the infrastructure, building the Academy up, investing in a new training ground, making a series of repairs to...

Re: Worst game of the season.

The 5-7 game was embarrassing but at the end of the day it was a relatively meaningless coca cola cup match. Recent history shows that it doesn't help relegation battling teams to be in cup competitions. The Wigan result was the one when afterwards we all knew that we would go down. However I would ...

Re: Season tickets 2013/14

Now that we're getting an extra 3m a year in parachute payments, surely the club can afford to knock a couple of hundred quid off the season ticket prices?

Re: How does the parachute payment works

Divvy would be right normally, but Jonathon Low at GetReading confirms he too was confused by this and says that Reading will get the new deal if the clubs agree it. For some reason the Premier League will allow the three relegated teams this season to be in the new deal when usually they would hav...

Re: PETITION - Away Ticket Pricing

It depends on which side of the fence you're sitting on - as a fan you see them as community institutions with relationships in local communities. I'm not sure a Russian owner gives a shit about that stuff. To him its pounds and pence. A normal business. He see's the relationship between club and c...

Re: PETITION - Away Ticket Pricing

Echoing sentiments above - of course the vast majority of fans will want to pay less, but, as long as clubs are still selling tickets at the higher prices which is giving sufficient returns they have every right to keep on charging the prices. It's a business with finite supply and high demand. Ine...
