Re: Ex Players

Wasn't Emerse Fae a record signing at the time? I could (and am most likely wrong). He again was hit and miss, some really strong games, but mostly powderpuff. Yep, but he was a last resort. Sidwell was gone and we knew that was happening, but all the players we had lined up to replace him (e.g. Sc...

Re: The Retained List

Surprised but not particularly saddened by Carson and Mola. Wonder if either/both got offers from elsewhere.

Basically this. Mola improved markedly over the season. Carson was alright at the start but felt his confidence shot by about halfway through the season.

Re: Ex Players

Bit harsh to call Convey hit and miss. Ok it took him a while to settle but then he was brilliant until the bad knee injury that he never seemed to fully recover from. Hardly his fault. Genuine q - what does hit and miss have to do with whose fault it was a player wasn't consistent? No one is blami...

And they don't sell them. i mean wtf, its the number one thing you'd expect a football club to sell both instore and online That is odd, althou...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burton Albion (h)

All shows that the side has been relatively inconsistent this side and are pretty much just as likely to beat a promotion chasing side as they are to lose to one about to get relegated. Feels like most sides in division are inconsistent. Few at top a bit better, few at bottom a bit worse, teams in ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burton Albion (h)

Can't help but think that if we needed a point or more, we'd have got it. Burton not great, we already had one foot on the beach. Explains a couple of soft goals. Did like it when both sets of fans were singing three little birds. Burton's home end very noisy, well organised. We sing our songs ever ...

Re: Ex Players

From Despair To Where? Ex loanee Josh Sims scores the winner in Ross County's first ever win over Rangers.

I thought he was alright, very fast and direct. Looked like the Shermanator. IIRC manager changes at both clubs and his loan got cut short.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol Rovers (a)

Selles - great to see that emotion come out last night - sign that they believe the job is done. As the players came over, he was gesticulating wildly at his team on the bench to get everyone involved. Those sometimes-weird moments earlier in the season where he insisted players applaud the fans st...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bristol Rovers (a)

It was just fun . Lovely evening for it. Good natured crowd keeping the noise up. Team playing some slick football. I got there ten minutes late, stood at the back, could barely see a thing and it's still one of my favourite away days. guy next to me: "Is this a corner or a free kick, I can't s...

Re: Ex Players

It was definitely in the Elm Park days. I think a lot of the interest around him was down to the fact that it was only an injury that prevented him being on the Zambian team plane that crashed, killing everyone on board. They were tipped to win the 1994 ACON. Just a general comment that if you have...

Re: Barnsley (A)

Any pub recommendations? Went a few years back, Barnsley has the distinct air of working hard and playing hard. Pub closest to station was packed from about noon and very home fans only. Away fans pub was a sports centre, iirc. Loads of pubs in and around the town centre, there's a small arcade run...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bolton Wanderers (a)

But galling that Bolton's main route of attack was a long diagonal ball.

Filed under same category as Pompey away, gave a better side the odd spell of worry but taken apart in the end. Young side, went for it at 3-1, few mistakes, suddenly it's a big defeat.

Defending on fourth was dreadful, though.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (h)

He got another drop ball correct and I can only assume people don't know the rules about drop balls since they changed. What is the latest rule? I thought it was still the last team that touched the ball when play was stopped got the drop ball. He pulled it back to where the player was down - which...

stealthpapes Leicester mates now thinking its blown and even 4th is a possibility.

With facing PL sanctions, if they do fail to go up they could be the biggest "riches to rags" story seen in the FL.
