Re: Nathan Phillips

McIntyre also seems to be quite injury prone. Don't know the stats but feels like he missed ore games than he played / could have played last season (though recovered during initial COVID lockdown)

Re: Pedro Mendes

Puscas will be gone. Expect Smith and McNulty to leave as well, and Baldock stays to see out his contract. I’m OK with him staying as a useful squad player but clearly can’t play the sole striker role. It was interesting in the last few games of last season that Bowen was clearly experimenting with ...

Re: RUMOUR: Rafael

Can’t believe Arsenal are looking to bid £10m for David Rays from Brentford. From what I’ve seen, Rafael is just as good, if not better.

FWIW Martinez is almost certain to be in the Championship next season unless he’s negotiated a relegation clause

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by things to come

Anyone think Olise needs to realise his right foot isn't just for standing on, especially playing on the right?

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by things to come

Anyone heard of many of the Derby players? Considering the squad they has 2-3 seasons ago. Shows how much FFP can impact on a playing squad

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (a) sponsored by things to come

Whilst we’ve got Joao on it seems silly to be reluctant to get crosses in. Lads oxf*rd massive. As long as Joao is on I fancy us to put away a high percentage of our chances, but we do see reluctant to have a go and quite slow again. An injury to him and I could see us going on a long barren run pl...

Re: RUMOUR: Rafael

Hendo Anssi was probably the right ‘keeper at the wrong time. Good shot stopper, but pretty poor with the ball at his feet, which is what the manager was looking for.

Totally agree with this. Couldn't kick for tuppence

Re: RUMOUR: Rafael

I think an interesting reference point is the £4m West Ham paid to Middlesborough in January for Darron Randolph. Feels about right to me for Rafael as well.

Re: Veljko Paunović - Whelmgauge

I think that was common knowledge, same with the ground. But technically the club don’t still own either. Dai Yongge owns both but both now sit outside the RFC web of companies. Effectively there is still a strong link and it’s certainly better than if we had sold either to a totally separate entit...

Re: BFiFollow - Colchester

Colchester exploded our FBs being in advanced positions this was a huge problem under Gomes. Most goals we conceded were as a result of full backs being too high, then centre backs being drawn wide to cover and no-one in midfield tracking the inevitable runner into the box into the space vacated by...

Re: BFiFollow - Colchester

He’ll get a club, there is still ages to go before the deadline and even after that he can still sign. He may only get a short contract, he may not be at the level he hopes and he may find mortgage payments remain tight . I’d not be averse to us offering him some kind of deal. Worst case we could i...

Re: Ex Players

Apologies if mentioned or i have missed it but i do think its poor from McCleary and Gunter that there has been no "social media" goodbyes. I actually like the pair and shame it has come to an end, but i thought it would be acknowledged in some way that they are not on our payroll. Unless...

Re: Veljko Paunović - Whelmgauge

Interesting, thankyou. Any idea what the Hogwood ownership trail actually was ? It’s good to know Bearwood is still nominally an RFC asset. I don’t I’m afraid. And the sale of Hogwood, iirc, is actually to a company controlled by Mr Dai based in The British Virgin Islands or Cayman. So technically ...

Re: Veljko Paunović - Whelmgauge

Interesting comment in Star’s analysis of last years’saccounts ‘In two years the club has profited by £14.7m from making a profit on selling fixed assets. In 2018 this is likely to have been the stadium itself; in 2019 it appears to have been the training ground at Hogwood.’ Now I think this is an ...
