Re: Racism in football (John Terry spin-off)

I know the English media are obsessed with racism, but I'm more concerned with the missiles being thrown from the crowd and also the violence from the Serbian players and officials after the final whistle.

Re: Racism in football (John Terry spin-off)

The likes of Clark Carlisle & Jason Roberts spouting off about being horried about this happening in "this day and age" had me shouting at the radio this morning. Last night had pfuck all to do with something as "minor" a simple racism in football in the 21st century. The pr...

Re: John Terry

I don't like this. Terry is odious and shit at football. He probably is a racist as well. But he was found not guilty by a court of law and shouldn't have had to face the same charges again. What if it had happened the other way round? I wouldn't like that either. You have got to respect the decisi...

Re: Justice For The 96

Rev Algenon Stickleback H The Liverpool fans that day were not all angels. Some (not hundreds, just some) were seem jumping the turnstiles. Some saw the distraction of the events as an ideal chance to loot the tea bars of their takings and stock.

No more needs to be said.

Re: Justice For The 96

Open question to all those who think Liverpool fans were on their best behaviour that day.

So why did the Police decide to open the gate that day?

Re: Justice For The 96

My 2 pence worth. Hillsborough was a terrible tragedy. The police were complete arseholes, covered it up & many were left to perish that could have survived. HOWEVER Despite all this, a large chunk Liverpool fans continue to 'bunk' into European away games by having fake or photocopied tickets,...

Re: Justice For The 96

Not convinced testing the dead for alcohol proves that Liverpool fans weren't drunk. Those that died would have been at the front and probably more concerned about their good spot on the terrace than the pub. Expecting to be shot down on here for having a view that Liverpool fans aren't to blame in...

Re: Justice For The 96

Salford Royal I honestly don't think anyone was 'pushing'.

If there wasn't any pushing or crushing outside the ground then the Police wouldn't have needed to open the gates to start with.

Re: Justice For The 96

soggy biscuit ... pushing outside the ground had nothing to do with it which is exactly what everyone knew anyway.

Re: Justice For The 96

That is not reason enough to apportion any blame for what happened on those fans. They were still partly responsible though. I've been at Elland Road walking down the stairs from the upper tier and some bunch of oxf*rd at the top think it's funny to push. People then fall over and get trampled on. ...

Re: Justice For The 96

I'm saying if people were more patient in general and acted more responsibly in public, without only thinking of themselves then things like Hillsborough wouldn't happen. People push and shove at gigs to get to the front, not because they're concerned about anyone else, because they want to get the...

Re: Justice For The 96

It was common as a football fan in those days to sit in the pub until as late as possible and then go to the ground. It was also common practice to turn up in large numbers close to kick-off without tickets and try and rush the turnstile. Fans knew more often than not that Police would open the gate...

The case could be dismissed this afternoon if the judge sees fit.

Re: John Terry

Ups and Downs Anyone got the YouTube footage in question.

Sounds like Terry didn't do it and Anton is only pursuing it because his missus wants him to.

QPR are the ones who pushed this - initially led by Neil Warnock (remember John Mackie and Carl Asaba). Another embarrassing load of tedious shite.

Re: John Terry

Reading the dialogue from court sounds like a Derek and Clive sketch "This bloke came up to me and said, you cunt..."
"to which I replied, you call me a cunt, you fucking cunt."

This court case is comedy gold.

Re: John Terry

Terry apparently said Ferdinand had bad breath - and also afterwards said he smelt of poo and wee.
There was also suggestions that he also made reference to his mother being a hamster and is father smelling of elderberries - but that is unproven.

Re: John Terry

His trial starts today at Westminster Magistrates Court; expected to last 5 days. Maximum punishment; £2500 fine. I detest John Terry and he is long overdue to have something against him, but you have to ask why this case has even gone to court. A two-second comment in the heat of battle on a footb...
