Re: Jackson Irvine

Yes but also No if the owners don't want to sell they wont that has been proven before. I just get this feeling unless a stupid offer of 10 million + or a staged deal to get that much is put on the table for. Swift, Meite, Moore, Olise, Joao or Puscas they will still be here next year our owners ar...

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Feel for Charlton Athletic. The sorry mess that is Charlton Athletic continues apace as the club still has massive ownership problems and ultimately could see the club ejected from the FL altogether if they’re not resolved https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53698266 Guess the above makes it diffi...

Re: Rival Watch

Suspect lots of players have been relegated twice ! Andy Yiadom has for a start... Knew he had at least 1. Hmm, There's quite a few I'd hazard a guess at having zero. Interesting* question. I'd guess Baldock is the only other in the current squad who might. Aluko at Hull Mr Aluko has 2 defin...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Dean Holden takes over at Bristol City. Championship clubs getting less and less ambitious with their appointments. Sign of the times. Saw this doing the rounds on Twitter a few days ago, safe to say their fans aren’t happy. Yes, very odd decision. If Reading had done that there’d be a meltdown on ...

Re: Rival Watch

No one's really failed to understand your point. I disagree with it. Even if you're right, the player given as the sort we should look to sign is bloody awful and would be in line with everything wrong at the club over the last 5 years or so. What we need are reliable players, who will play at temp...

Re: Jackson Irvine

Agree that Jackson would be a good addition. Would bring some much needed experience into midfield as well and on a free transfer is probably as good as the club could get this close season.

Now, remind me, how did the last midfielder Reading got from Hull do?

Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

Detail I read said that cap would include signing on fees, all contract bonuses (goals etc) and agents' fees. Wow, that is going to be interesting then. How could it be any different ? If you excluded one form of payment you invalidate the cap. Teams would simply pay a £2 million signing on fee pai...

Re: Swift to... Southampton

The EP says Liam Moore is Reading’s most valuable player at £4.85m  so, given that fact, perhaps the club should have accepted £4m!

To be fair to the EP though they’re merely filling the long boring days of no real news with something that the transfetmarkt website has done.

Re: Squad for 2020/21

£4m is not a lot for Chelsea but they see it as a cheap punt in the same way we saw someone like Nicky Shorey. If he makes it, he's a bargain, otherwise they loan him out for 3 years so his wages are covered and then flog him and recoup the transfer fee. It's a deal with almost zero risk for them. ...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Jason Tindall announced as the new Bournemouth manager. Tells me they aren't expecting anything next season and probably won't have any players left. Hope the disgusting cnuts fold! Pray for Reading4Eva In all seriousness, can see them still doing OK, reckon players like Stacey, Brooks, Cook, Solan...

Re: Next seasons kit choice?

Looks like you can preorder a shirt on the OS but there doesn’t yet seem to be a way to preorder one with a name and number (presume that will follow once squad numbers are announced). However, in the meantime, you’d think you could buy one with a name and number of your own choosing.

Re: Squad for 2020/21

Takes all sorts of course, but I think this absolutely the wrong way to go. We let James Henry go 10 years ago. In that time we've been Championship winners, we've played in the Premier League,. we've been to the FA Cup semi-final. How long were we supposed to hang on to him? He's a decent pro, but...

Re: Rumour - Olise to Leeds

I don't disagree, I think we're in the situation where he will go for nothing in a year. Absolutely dreadful move by the club all round on how they have handled Moore's transfer/contract situation. he has 3 years left on his contract. if he was in his final year then it'd be good news Liam Moore si...
