Re: Contract situation at end of 2020/21 season.

I know LB has been discussed but Bristow looked pretty handy in the cup games. He has had his contract extended, Paunovic has mentioned him by name a few times. Maybe he is the player to step up this year.

John Smith
linkenholtroyal I went for Rafael I know this will be controversial.

I wondered which muppet did this. One of the most diabolical footballers in the division.

That would be me Kermit the frog.

How do we replace Olise's goals and assists with no money?

Re: January window

Don’t think we can sign precontract agreements right now can we (only overseas clubs), and if we are restricted by FFP stupidity on signings we woukdn’t be allowed to commit to a future signing would we ? Puscas probably could play as a winger but not sure LAM and RAM are wingers are they ? Woukdn’...

Re: Contract situation at end of 2020/21 season.

I do think it's strange that Onen was a semi regular part of the squad this season and is now released, surely this opportunities would have been better off given to Azeez or Nevers while he was fit as they might still be here next season? Didn't actually get many minutes though, so maybe they pref...

Re: RUMOUR - Yakou Meite

I would rather cash in on Olise, he is easier to replace and worth more. Meite is a player that we don’t have other options for at the moment. Nice to see Bristow has had another year aswell. At least we have a LB left at the club if Richards is gone. How do we replace Olise's goals and assists wit...

Re: Pauno In! Appreciation Thread

Agree to stick with Pauno and Bowen would have put us mid table at best. finishing 7th does have a positive though 2/3rds atleast of the championship are not going to be offering major wages, this is visible by the glut of talent due to be a free transfer this year. we may also not have a lot to spe...

Re: How likely is it that the Dai s will cash in their ownership ?

Cash in? How exactly do you sell a massive financial black hole - and to whom? Surely the world is running out of the type of idiots who want to see their money washed away down football's plughole? Well, I keep doing the EuroLottery I don't think that would touch the current position at Reading. I...

Re: Contract situation at end of 2020/21 season.

Out of interest do we get more money for finishing higher in the table this season like the premier league or is it the same as if we finished 21st?? Just intrigued I think we do, but don't think it's a lot. Only thing I an find on it is a report from 2019 by a Birmingham reporter that stated it wa...

Re: Pauno out

I would have kept Bowen. He got sacked just as the players he lined up got hired and Laurent has been a revelation. Pauno needs another season, he has been good for the youth and he needs an opportunity to sign some of his own players to mould his team. Rome was not built in a day. If we are relegat...

Re: Is the Championship becoming more predictable?

Meite Swift and Moore were under the Thais with Stam and BT. There were plenty of "misses" in that transfer window but on the whole it was pretty successful. Even more so in a financial sense if we'd cashed in on Moore and Swift when we had the opportunity. Anything after that is when the...

Re: Is the Championship becoming more predictable?

P&S (FFP) could also now becoming a factor in terms of teams not being able to financially challenge the relegated teams. Reading lost £45m last season and Dai Yongge has pumped in around £200m over 4-5 years he's been the owner; Sheff Weds, Derby, Forest have all had owners in recent years try...

Re: Contract situation at end of 2020/21 season.

As a side not Liam Kelly’s contract is up at Feyenoord and he is a free transfer again. Would you take him back as cover for Laurent / Rinhomota. He has spent the last 2 seasons on loan at Oxford. Cheap option who would know the club and only 25 still. Not really. He's not tough enough to cover Rin...

Re: Is the Championship becoming more predictable?

The atrocious parachute payments give the relegated clubs a huge advantage allowing them to keep hold of their most prized assets, also covid is stopping some of the PL clubs picking them up due to ongoing financial difficulties. P&S (FFP) could also now becoming a factor in terms of teams not ...
