Re: MATCHWATCH : Bournemouth (a) sponsored by Jimmy Quinn

Given Bournemouth's squad depth compared to ours, this couldn't really have come at a worse time. dunno depends who is back fit. We could well have a bench with Baldock, Yiadom, Semedo, Aluko, Puscas, McIntyre or something similar FWIW Bournemouth's bench might include most of these (with approx tr...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Bournemouth (a) sponsored by Jimmy Quinn

Our system is better suited to playing away from home and i'm sure that at least two of either Meite, Moore and Ejaria will be fit. I really hope Moore is fit, he has been the biggest loss and Bournmouth will cause us issues i'm sure. However, if Meite is fit and Joao is on his game then we can scor...

Re: Back from whatever that was.

let us be honest here, our squad is paper thin and we are suffering for it. Our first choice 11 and bench is a match for every team in this league, period!! However, as soon as we get some injuries we have no depth whatsoever, and the absence of Moore and Meite has really highlight the fact. Moore h...

Re: Back from the pain

McIntyre had a shocker tonight, however, he's young and these things happen with young players and i'm sure he'll learn from these mistakes. It might be worth giving Gibson a shout for Saturday, he was very highly rated at Fleetwood last season and must be worth a look at. We played well at times to...

Re: Royals on the Box/Internet Thread

So i'm in Canada and paid my annual subcription to ifollow $200.00 approx, and now all of a sudden we become the new Leeds and Sky gets all the games and i'm out of pocket as we cannot get these games on ifollow? Surly this isn't right or fair. Not happy at the moment.

Re: Rumour - Olise to Leeds

Should be able to sell him for a lot if all the top teams are interested. I'd love him to continue his progression here but if we end up talking stupid money, that's a very quick way out of our current financial issues and also allow strengthening of the team as a whole. So what do we all think wou...

Re: BGTF Coventry

The team looked tired and lethargic tonight with sloppy passing and no pace in the build up play. I guess the energy put into the Blackburn game and the short turn around of this game took its toll. However, maybe with Meite out we could try a 3-5-2 formation: Moore, Morrision and McIntrye as a back...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackburn Rovers (a) sponsored by Paul McShane

Tonight was the first time you could really see the confidence building in the team, the passing was crisp, the defending was good, the midfield is solid and the attacking play was breathtaking at times. Blackburn are a very good side and we just put four past them!! And the scary thing is, this tea...

Re: Next 5 games are key

We seem to be more suited for away games and even with three home wins on the bounce we don't really seem to control games at home. 4-2-3-1 is great away from home and really seems to suit us well. However, maybe a change of tactics at home is needed, and i would prefer to play two up front at home ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (h) sponsored by Keith Scott

Some say Holmes was motm material Holmes was good and has done an amazing job as stand in over the past few games, however he isn't a natural right back which shows in his attack play. The games against Wycombe and Rotherham should be ideal for Esteves to get to grips with the English game and i'm ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wycombe Wanderers (h) sponsored by Keith Scott

So a real local derby played under the lights against Wycombe Wanderers whom may not be one of our fiercest rivals, however geographically i think the are second only to Aldershot and we share the top of the league on points with Brizzle. It doesn't get much better than this we ask, however Covid ha...

Re: BF I follow Barnsley

Today typified that old saying, if you play badly and win, that can't be a bad thing. Today wasn't pretty but it was job done. Good teams learn how to win when playing poorly, and today was that. Barnsley pressed high and frustrated us, but they never really looking to threatening themselves, howeve...

Re: Season 20/21

As usual where we finish will mainly be down to how we start the season. A strong start normally means a good season in this division. I have tracked this for some years and on average if a side is struggling after 10 games they have an 85+% chance of ending up bottom half at the end of the season....

Re: Season 20/21

If we can keep our main core of players fairly injury free and strengthen out wide i really do believe we have the capability of suprising a few people this season. In Joao and Puscas we have two very good strikers who just need support, in Olise, Ejaria and Swift we have the capability to provide t...

Re: Squad for 2020/21

I read Baldock absent from training but not clear if it’s injury related. What are people’s thoughts on Marc McNulty? Worth giving him a go this season? Played in the right system McNulty could be a good player for us and save us some money. The guy is a good finisher but cannot play the lone strik...

Re: End of season sale - value the squad

Is Meite really a good striker? would he have scored lets say 25 goals if he was in our 106 point record breaking team, with the amazing fast counter attacking wing playing system? Good Q I often think that a striker doesn't matter as much as the system and the service and our issues have been no p...

Re: End of season sale - value the squad

5 Million for McIntyre (First season, but i admit a great prospect) and only 3 Million for Meite (17 Goal striker/Winger). I'm pretty sure goal scorers with a good goal to game ratio tend to be worth more than defenders, however, it sometimes makes me wonder how Meite got 17 goals in this team when ...

Re: Bowen's Tenure

I'm on the underwhelmed fence, mostly down to the uninspiring and boring football being played, and especially not having the ability to turn around our home form. But i do believe we have had so much turnover in managers in the last however many years that its time for a bit of stability, so i woul...

Re: How do we become good again?

The biggest thing for me is we lack drive, power, pace, strength We miss rough-house strike partnerships like Long-Hunt. We miss raw speed. Kebe for example. Our only truly fast winger is out on loan and basically finished. Strikers and fast wingers are not just about the goals they score, but abou...
