Re: European Leagues Thread 2012/2013

Was listening to something yesterday and they talked about Xavi Simons move to PSV and back last year and how its done to benefit clubs rather than the player, and is a way of doing a loan without the apparent hassle of a loan between clubs. Simons, really highly rated youngster at PSG. Moves from P...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Spanish media seem to be suggesting that having talked Xavi round to staying at Barcelona after he previously said he was leaving, Barcelona have decided they don't want him now and will get rid of him at the end of the season. lol

Re: Scottish premier league.

its the same problem a lot of leagues have i guess. Always seems to be that one, or if they are lucky 2, have all the wealth and success, and everyone else just plays for also rans spots Serie A seems to have broken away from that somewhat in recent years, which must be exciting as an Italian footba...

Re: Scottish premier league.

Do Celtic fans also have affinity with or a soft spot for Hibs, or is that seen as a rivalry for the same kinds of fans? (or nothing at all and I don't understand Scotch football!) Proddies v Cathodes innit Celtic & Hibs have religious connection of sorts (historically) I thought they were both...

on page 1 of this thread, on January 2018, Big Winst wrote I am generally not in favour of it as I prefer whatever helps the game to keep flowing as much as possible

Re: VAR

I don't want VAR as it changes the game too much. Even if used to make all the calls correct, it would need to change too much about how the game is to be able to do that, and that to me is not success. get it in the bin There isn't a situation in 2024 where a multi-billion pound global football in...

We can't just do a Brexit and get rid of it when everybody else uses it and it will be used in European Club competitions as well as Euros and World Cups I genuinely don't understand why not Because football is a worldwide game? not every aspect of it has to be identical in every country for it to ...

Re: VAR

my only issue with a post VAR removal world is that you just know the likes of Sky Sports will continue to use lines drawn on the pitch when an offside is not called, to try and push all the conversation towards a 'ooh you wouldn't have had that with VAR' If we can use it relatively successfully in...

Re: Weekend Football

Would it be going too far to say the 3 relegated teams from the PL this season are the 3 worst promoted sides (as a collective) we have seen so far? Yep. And that's wholly by design. The system is oxf*rd. Two of the teams that narrowly escaped the drop only did so by breaking 'financial sustainabil...

Re: Weekend Football

Have to say fair play to Chelsea and Pochettino, too. They seem to have found a formula that works, and have now lost just once in 14 games Wolves seem to be the mirror image to Chelsea. O'Neil was getting tons of praise earlier in the season for the work he was doing there, but their end of season...
