Re: Generic clubs in financial crisis Thread

From Despair To Where? They owe the tax man a few million so I'd imagine it's probably HMRC.

Doesn't it have to be a really big creditor? I'm not sure the tax would be that big a slice of the club's debt.

Re: Rival Watch

Administration in itself is a mixed thing. You only go into administration if your owner has got you into a real mess, at which point it will get rid of them but at great cost. What differentiates the good and bad examples of what follows is who bought them next. It's that simple. I think Portsmout...

Re: Rival Watch

Wednesday have gone into administration. That's got to be good news for them doesn’t it? Takes it all out of Chanserai's hands. Short term a lot of pain, but the prospect of a brighter future under someone else. No...administration is not a good place. The priorities of the administrators are the c...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

if that is true that's insane - did the club think they were bringing in a load of superstars during the summer? It's not that insane. Depending o the extent. Craig clearly wasn't going to be first choice. Either out of position at RB, where we had actual RBs and a promising youngste, or in midfiel...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (h)

Mr Angry There is no way we would have had pages and pages of an after game forum discussing the minutia of the ref's performance if she wasn't female!

Got to challenge misogyny haven't we.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

Kyeweera just isn’t very good. Maybe he’ll improve in time but I have zero enthusiasm for him atm and think he’s a big part of why we’ve looked so poor this season. To an extent, draws similarities with Popa where they have a knack of forever running around and looking busy but stand out like child...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

How we do we know we don’t have a lot left in reserve? Sackey, Spencer, Ryan, Borgnis, Garcia, Osho could all do a job at least as good as some of the players we’ve brought in. Kelvin, Abrefa, Garcia, Stickland were all sidelined quickly, Wareham and Craig were allowed to leave because they weren’t...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

Think Garcia is down to age, he’s grown a fair bit and I think won’t get bullied this year as much Don’t think Kelvin gets especially bullied tbh. He just isn’t a natural target man despite his size. He certainly holds his own against most defenders. Tbf I’ve enjoyed the last couple of games a lot ...

Re: Rival Watch

Yeah it sucks. Another idiot owner ruining a decent club +1 and good luck to them. They seem to have it worse Yep always found their fans a decent lot as well - Chansiri must be asking for an unrealistic price given the lack of any offers. Looks like they are looking at points deductions as well gi...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

Oh no, not Kyeweera. He was terrible on Tues and hasn’t been much good all season. He isn’t even that quick or exciting. If we’re keeping Kelv as a 9 (don’t mind that) then I think I’d rather shove Doyle RW or promote JOP or something JOP  You really don't like him, do you. I'd put Abrefa, A...

Re: Rival Watch

I know this may well be the wrong thread to be posting on, however just wanted to express sympathies to all Sheff Wed. supporters, given their current plight. After watching the highlights from last night, and seeing all the empty seats, it was a stark reminder of how close our club was to going do...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Doncaster Rovers (h)

I'd just stick with the same XI which started against Northampton, assuming everyone's available. I'd give Kyerewaa a go if Ritchie isn't fit enough to start. Same. I think we need to minimise our chopping and changing. Kelvin started up front, give him the run while Marriott is out. It’s not going...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (h)

Given how thick, partisan and unaware of the rules many football fans are, this is a laughable statement. Exactly. On several occasions I have had to explain the laws of the game and the guidelines issued to the referees to people around me who are articulating bemusement/outrage at a decision made...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (h)

In the second half one of the chants started after the ref awarded a free kick against us a few yards outside the right side of our penalty area. People around me were saying 'but he clearly got the ball' with no reference to how he might have got the ball, I can't remember which of our players it ...

16th 8) To all those who didn't take any notice of us who said "let's see where we are after we played our game in hand" and carried on moaning about being in the bottom four. We told you so . Where does all this “game in hand” nonsense come from? After playing that match last night...

Re: The next 12 games

Our form for the ten league games since then places us 8th and we are still improving as a team. BUT BUT BUT we're trundling along at barely a point a game :| It really doesn't need much improvement from where we are to be where we wish to be. Yeah, the difference between winning and losing is ofte...
