Re: MATCHWATCH : Fulham (h)

I'd be going 3-5-2 or 3-4-1-2 - we don't have full back, so don't pick any. So Southwood Dann Laurent Holmes Azeez Drinkwater Dele-Bashiru (or Rino if he is fit enough to start) Hoilett Swift Carroll Puscas (who knows a goal may help him) Bench - whoever is standing. Defeat is the most likely resul...

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

I don't think I'd want anybody from the lower leagues unless we ourselves was relegated this season and we wanted to poach them in the summer. It would be a harder sell given we'd potentially be in the same league as the one's like Evatt and Ainsworth but I still think they'd be more than interested...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Fulham (h)

It could turn into a bit of a volatile atmosphere depending on the scoreline or depending on when the first goal goes in for them. It they score within the first 5-10 minutes, we could be on the end of a hiding.

We should inevitably see a reaction though due to Saturday's performance and result.

Re: Who's to blame?

I think it's all really a combination of the aforementioned factors that have got worse before they've got better and I don't see how they will get better until owners with a more realistic viewpoint is found, which could be x years away anyway. I probably wouldn't be too far from the truth (if at a...

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

On the surface of it, yes, somebody spending the remainder of the season trying to keep us up probably would be a good challenge given you can look at this squad as an underachieving group of players but I'm not even sure that, if I was a manager wanting to build a reputation, why I'd even temporari...

Re: Pauno out

The Dai's failed a fit and proper persons test when wanting to buy Hull City before they eventually took the reigns with ourselves. Even when that happened, it was met with caution as well. I still don't know who made the decision to push this through, but it's been a disaster since minute one with ...

Re: Who realistically replaces Paunovic…?

I think the title should read, "Who realistically replaces Paunovic and would actually want the job?" Seriously though, what manager wants this job? Any manager worth their salt and wanting to prove something wouldn't want this position and could you blame them? We've got 40+ players out o...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

I think this was something that both Gomes and Bowen were trying to do. Obviously Gomes' 3-5-2 would see him and Ejaria in central areas go from deep and I saw Swift play almost as the deepest midfielder under Bowen, getting on the ball and dictating the game. It's not unthinkable and was arguably s...

Re: Injury watch 2021/22

According to ya ITK man on twitter, Ovie isn't vaccinated and lives with 7 relatives, so has to isolate every time one of them gets covid. That’s ridiculous and unsustainable going forward. Of course the high comedy in all this is that if you’re vaccinated you can still get it and odd it on  W...

Re: January Window

I'd get Brandon Mason on until the end of the season. At least it provides competition in that area as well as cover when necessary. A bit of Championship experience can't hurt either and a more established professional, seems like a sensible deal. Can't imagine he will be a world beater but if can ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

Don't think thats true. Maybe at times early in his Reading career, but he works as hard as anyone most games, and doesn't shirk a challenge He was definitely well off against Derby though - for whatever reason didn't seem to fancy it. I genuinely think he wasn't fit/unwell. Not seen him look so la...

Re: Andy Carroll

Hopefully Puscas does go, it just hasn't worked for him since Pauno arrived, taking a massive hit on him as well unfortunately.

Carroll, Joao and Meite should be ok for the rest of the season with Clarke coming through potentially as well, it should be enough to see us through.

Re: Rival Watch

Good player and his versatility was useful but a lot of the time seemed like more of a hinderance than a help. Under different circumstances he could have been good but another high earner that ourselves and Cardiff don't need.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

Yeah I'd agree with, his form would usually fluctuate because he'd end up picking up injuries throughout the season, incredibly he hasn't done too bad this season when you consider our injury list. He does deserve a chance in the PL, he's definitely got the ability to test himself at that level. Wou...

Re: Injury watch 2021/22

It's something that we all knew but something that is interesting when you start crunching the numbers together as well. 13-15 players available on average in a matchday squad, with two of them being goalkeepers is ridiculous. We could certainly use 2/3 recruits to at least push this average number ...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

Luxury player is Swift. Joao is similar as well, appear to be going through the motions. Fair enough if that's not their style but it sticks out like a sore thumb in some games. Don't think thats true. Maybe at times early in his Reading career, but he works as hard as anyone most games, and doesn'...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Kidderminster Harriers (a)

Given the players available I'm not sure how much he can rotate. Maybe Camara and Azeez will come in for players like Swift and Halilovic but I'd still expect the 18 match day squad from Derby to be relatively similar to Kidderminster tomorrow. We still need to get minutes in the legs of some playe...

Re: Injury watch 2021/22

The RIno thing re games played is ludicrous. This did happen with Sean Goater 15 years ago but it was part of the signing deal with Man City, Rino has come through the academy. As for Ejaria he was injured pre the recent infection issues and he's been out with covid anyway in the summer so he's pro...
