Should the reserves be our first team?

The reserves won 3-0 last night. Playing for them was:

Hamer
Kishanishivilli
Marek
Davies
Henry
Robson-Kanu
Bignall

These guys are either quality players or promising players with good recent form. I think all 7 should be in the match day squad at the very least.

Re: Reading Barnsley game on?/match thread.

I thought that we got Thorvaldson to score goals and while he is getting splinters in his ass on the bench we put debutant Bignall on ?? what the fcuk is going on here, maybe he is on a "pay-per-game" deal ?? Is it just possible that the manager analyzes the strengths and weaknesses of th...

Re: Back from the game - Sheffield Utd

Agree with you JR apart from Griffin who looked solid and picked some good passes to the front men in the second half. Worth 5 at least. Sadly Karacan looked out of his depth, particularly in the first half. The search goes on for the right central pairing. Ideally Sig in the middle with a defensiv...

Re: Back from the game - Sheffield Utd

Poor away performance again from the boys. Like forest we were dire in the first half and improved significantly in the second half. Sigs pen miss and Long's one on one sitter screw up were critical turning points. Its the story of our league season that we mess up on the big moments. United are a h...

Re: Why does McAnuff mince it in the second half?

Ian Royal Surely it's more a case that the other team stifles our supply to him and double or triple up?

McCann did get booked.

Jobi has got 12 left backs booked this season. Not a single one has been sent off. That says a lot.

Why does McAnuff mince it in the second half?

Almost every game the opposition left back is booked in the first half.

This seems like an awesome opportunity for McAnuff to tear havoc and either get the left back sent off or set up shed loads of goals.

But time and time again Jobi fails to do this and take advantage.

Is he a bottler?

Re: Ive let my team down

I bottled it. The team turned up with commitment and effort in buckets on wednesday. Sadly i didnt. I had a ticket and minced it due to weather and work commitments. Now i cant forgive myself. No one to blame but myself. You follow your team through the good times and the bad times. Now matter how ...

Re: SHAUN LONG?!! (Media don't like us /can't spell thread)

A summary of how useless ITV were last night: - Team line-ups showing Gunnar at centre back at ivar at right-back (on more than one occassion) - Commentator being convinced that Ivar had scored the own goal and then the camera focussing on him for the whole time post the goal - Steve Ryder repeatedl...

Re: Liverpool replay

My only beef with the Reading ticket office is that they did not say from the start that tickets would be available on the door. I bought my tickets before this was announced and if I had known would not have paid in advance. Because they wouldn't have known if tickets would be available on the doo...

Re: Liverpool replay

I assume there has never been a game called off because the away fans couldn't get to the game? I'm snowed in and it doesn't look like I can get the car out without a snow-plough. That's £24 down the drain! I wonder if many RFC fans can get out of Berkshire at the moment. Also I assume the team lef...

Re: Liverpool replay

Met office has severe weather warning for heavy snow in various areas today including north west england. We have had some overnight snow in reading but wouldnt call it heavy at this stage.

What's the weather like up north at the moment?

Re: Brendan's moaning again!

The sacking of Brendan Rodgers is the first time I have been ashamed to be a Reading fan. You should get to more games JR I think that all home games and 75% of away games is a pretty good sample in the last 8 years (for this millenium anyway!). I know it's about results, but so many successful man...

Re: Brendan's moaning again!

The sacking of Brendan Rodgers is the first time I have been ashamed to be a Reading fan. The board are yet to provide a satisfactory explanation for sacking him and his comments in the article are all very reasonable. Had he been given a settled team and there was no sign of quality football or imp...

Re: Newcastle game off

I am incredulous that some morons are suggesting that it is the wrong decision or that the club has not made a proper effort. Have you tried to get around Reading today?!? The club have been very clear in the linked statement and gave a detailed explanation for why a postponement now is the best cho...

Re: What would you do if you were manager

The striking thing with nearly all our posts on this thread is that they are all very similar. They all contain some significant changes to the squad but we have a decent level of agreement. This shows it cant be that difficult to get things right if we can all see it. Mcdermott is not the man - he ...

Re: What would you do if you were manager

Given the lack of funding available (i.e. largely sell loads to buy one) my short term plan for rest of season would be 1. Loan in an experienced goalkeeper 2. Play Jay Tabb as RB when fit again while trying to find affordable quality replacement (or loan) 3. Keep Bertrand at LB 4. Play Matt Mills ...

replace the word guaranteed with almost definite. Some of us have been around football a lot longer than you and know a good thing when we see it. unless you're quite old then I don't think you have been, actually mate. And if you are, then you haven't learnt much. You said guaranteed then replaced...

You know absolutely f*ck all. replace the word guaranteed with almost definite. Some of us have been around footb...
