Re: Rumour - Rob Dickie

Interesting thread, cheers guys. Do we have any way of knowing where we are compared with other championship clubs with regards to our wage bill? I agree the days if the ex premiership journey men must now be over which I think is positive. I know Kitson, Doyle, Long were taken from lower leagues a...

Re: Back from I Follow Luton

Enjoyed that and glad I paid my £10, though it was touch and go whether I did or not. Plenty t be positive about, while Luton looked poor. As said before pleased for MacIntyre and Osho. Osho looked like he was unfamiliar as a right back, but grew into the game. Lots of potential. Interesting that B...

Re: Back from I Follow Luton

Love that in the post match interview Bowen is talking about how Meite's asking to be No 9 and Bowen tells him he'll get just as many chances coming in off the right... he then scores 4 goals. Bowen, "I think I've won that one for a while." I think the significant thing was how much...

Re: BFIFollow Brentford

Ever since Ejaria arrived on loan there have been no big doubts about his talent but there are doubts about wtf he actually is. Is he a winger? A box to box midfielder? An attacking midfielder? Nobody can work it out. Suspect one day something will click either for him or for a manager and then he’...

Re: BFIFollow Brentford

Ejaria slows the game down. Short passess, no shots, few crosses. Beginning to wonder what contribution he actually makes to the team. He does fancy tricks which look great on YouTube, and had a good couple of months at the start of the season...so our fans love him. So what does he contribute? Rep...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

SCIAG
Snowflake Royal
SCIAG How many goals per minute would the coronvirus get in League One?

350

So by my calculations, if we signed COVID-19 and played it up front every minute of every game for the rest of the season, we would score 0 goals.

If I were playing against I'd go zonal marking rather than man to man.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (h) sponsored by hopeless at home

Morrison is a leader at the back though. We don't have many of them. Moore is not as good at organizing the defence Miazga was also giving it some during the game. I really like him he’s got all the right attributes. We ought to try and buy him and build the defence around him. 'greed. He's still g...

Re: BFT well I don’t know what to call it without resorting to a lot of naughty words

Awful performance. Ejaria & Swift are the new Lampard & Gerrard. There have been some really good results & performances with them in the same team so there are definitely certain formations and line ups where they can operate perfectly well. What they definitely aren't are wingers, yet...

Re: Bowen Out.

Its not a case of having sympathy or shedding tears. Its simply a) making usable players unusable (esp Baldock who we really could have used early doors), and b) upsetting the squad. Obviously b) is more difficult to make judgement on, but it certainly wouldn't have helped having 2 popular players ...

Re: Bowen Out.

I agree here Every manager has their own ethos and way of taking the club forward and I sympathise with his thoughts that they weren’t going to fit in, whilst not necessarily agreeing. However, you treat them as humans and not as prisoners, which IMO was his worst mistake. You’d have thought Gunter...

Re: Bowen Out.

The combined contribution from the loanees was the turning point last season. Not least having a class keeper. Which was in part financed because a decision was made very quickly by the new management that Mannone/McNulty/Meyler etc were not required and were told exactly that. I doubt very much if...

Re: Bowen Out.

After that great week (Cardiff Home, West Brom & Huddersfield away). 1 goal conceded and 7 points we weren't talking about defensive frailties or playing styles. Having watched every minute of all 3 games. More questions than answers still remained. The squad wasn't up to the style that Gomes w...

Re: Bowen Out.

The point was, pre-season we couldn't fund the replacements until those players were gone. Yes, however, thats undoubtedly quite common in football. They are still professionals, you keep them involved and ready for action when needed, and if someone had come in, all the better. Publicly sidelining...

Re: Bowen Out.

I don't get a lot of joy out of criticising Gomes, and he was the right man for the job last year, but I've also little doubt it was the correct decision to sack him when we did - and I was quite vocal about saying it at the time The combined contribution from the loanees was the turning point last...

Re: Bowen Out.

Ah wow. So in other words his appointment has been something of a revelation you could say. But a lot of those games we got 3 points in since Bowen came were games in which we were better than the opposition and won the game. We simply played less of those teams in Gomes' stint. Gomes had preseason...

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Bromwich Albion (h) sponsored by Neil Clement

I wonder if Bowen might field a team similar to this as West Brom wouldn't expect it. He could put Meite on the bench (he has played a lot recently) and start Timbe there instead, with like you say Adam picking the passes and Puscas in the middle for crosses in. If you're resting Swift and Ejaria, ...
