Re: Which was worse

Norfolk Royal speaks as a true veteran and is spot on. I recall some pretty dire days in Division Four. Having said that I believe the current squad is the most under achieving one we have ever had. Stam is lucky to still be in a job.

It is a point but dear God we are so poor.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Hull City (a) sponsored by Mr William Whitehurst

I would definitely take a point but suspect Hull will score in the final ten minutes to nick it

He has been very poorly treated. What was the point of this signing? He has never been given a chance

Re: Rumour - Chris Martin

I well remember we were relegated back to the basement division in 1982/3 on 53 points  Our playing record was won 12, drew 17, lost 17 which really wasn’t that bad.

Kerry Dixon left the club thereafter

Re: Madjeski and Howe

Of course the club isn’t dying but it’s very depressing at the moment. I have supported the club for 45 years and never argued with another fan...until now. I have had a couple of arguments with other supporters at our last two home games. The atmosphere is dreadful with almost no singing and obviou...

Re: In or Out? New poll.

Stam is too stubborn to change. I expect more of the same in upcoming weeks

Re: In or Out? New poll.

I don’t know why Lee Johnson is being mentioned. So what if he has turned things around. It doesn’t mean Stam will.

Re: BFTG - Stevenage

Fighting relegation from the second tier is no cause for celebration. We have had a golden period but even that has been relatively modest. Even Swindon and Oxford have managed to win the League Cup in the past. Our history pre John Madejski was one of non achievement for the most part.

Re: BFTG - Stevenage

0-6 in play offs FiNeRain. Agree with the gist of your post. As a club we did not break the mould. The players are being a bit precious as are some of our fans. We are hardly the most passionate fan bases around. If the players can’t cope with a few boos then they need to get a grip. This is nothing...

Re: BFTG - Stevenage

Just watched a snippet of Stam’s post match interview. He doesn’t look well. Bags under his eyes and looking demoralised. Sad to see.

Re: BFTG - Stevenage

I think the comments from McShane and Gunter are from the heart. Much as I want Stam out I want to see the team win and if that means Stam gets to stay so be it. However if we continue with the current painfully laboured style of play it’s difficult to see how we can get behind the players because i...

Re: BFTG - Stevenage

This thread is a depressing read. There has been a disconnect between Stam and the supporters for a while now but that has now spread to the players.
Surely the owners cannot allow this to continue much longer?

Re: Back from the shambles - Brum

It was Kermorgant who fell over in our penalty box prior to their first goal. Yet another of so many soft goals we have conceded this season. We have rarely been under the cosh at The Madejski this season. Apart from the last ten minutes against Cardiff where we were under siege teams have scored ou...

Re: Relegation

I would worry about the financial viability of the club if we went down. There is also no guarantee that we would win promotion back to the Championship. Crowds would decline to 10k and possibly less which would make for an utterly dismal atmosphere.

Re: Back from the shambles - Brum

We look every inch a relegation bound side. The players are all over the place positionally. We are so poor at aerial challenges. We regularly concede soft goals. We allow our opponents too much time on the ball. Our centre forward offers no threat at all and we must have the lowest number of goals ...
