Re: Rival Watch

Pepe the Horseman We've absolutely fcuked Port Vale's season. 1 point from 6 games since we got the game abandoned.

I certainly do not wish them ill, but barring tennis balls, would they really have won then?

Royal_jimmy Well we're making the effort to turn up and support the players. Now lets hope the players turn up and put in a great performance!

…and I expect 1871 will be loud. At least until the 0:3 event.

Re: STH, will you renew next season?

I probably will, depending on manager situation and not too many changes for 1871. Really like away games, and am still going, fullwell knowing the outcome.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

Our season in a nutshell. Just about beating the teams we should beat. Big weight lifted off our shoulders. Not unrealistic that we could stay up without getting another point all season. I doubt that. We need another 7-8 points I think Yeah, Wigan with a three point winning streak could do it. Rea...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swansea City (h)

Lumley ran over to their fans and was just celebrating in front of them. Someone threw a bottle at him, he picked it up, poured it out and threw it back etc. just generally acting like an arse - standard Lumley stuff. Funny for Reading fans, annoying as hell for the opposition I think he drank the ...

Re: Club 1871 - the What, When, Where, How, Who & Why Thread

Overall another good effort from Club 1871 Are you being ironic, or is it deja vu all over again? Not sure what you mean. I'm in favour of it and think it's been better this season. Plenty of singing and a good atmosphere again today Sorry, just that the post seems to have appeared four times in a ...

Is anyone else, in the back of their mind, wondering which wheel is going to fall off and how bad? Been conditioned to think any good run is only temporary over the last decade, and will be followed by shite. It's depressingly pavlovian. The thing is..The playoffs in 2017: Both sides one-man-...

Not a great away day experience for me today, my daughter was hit by a flare after they scored and was very lucky that it exploded against the concrete and not her legs as she was wearing shorts. Very very upset and has a massive bruise on her hip https://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/305472/...

… and, touch wood (ooer), Lumley put all his dodgy eggs into one Yorkshire basket On the ooer, you have to feel sorry for a player carrying Smallbone on his shirt..probably their best man on the pitch. Weird enjoying a ‘ding game in the 80th minute, 1871 screaming all around, Stoke walking around. ...

Outstanding today. Brilliant effort all round. Amazing initiative. My first time (in Club 1871  ) Brilliant, like an away-day but without the rammed train afterwards, just a soothing pint in The Nags… Glad you enjoyed it. Came across brilliantly and lifted the whole stadium Yes, glad my son a...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cardiff City (h)

The rules are quite clear, if they are deemed to make a genuine attempt to play the ball it`s a yellow, it looked like he was pulled back by the neck or shoulder. I know the rule. My point is ref's tend to interpret it in a way that keeps the player on the park. If Ince was brought down outside box...

Referee saying Ince took the ball too wide for the pen to award a red card, it was a tap in you fu c king clown. Paul Ince on Nelson not being sent off: 'The ref said to me that once he'd gone around the goalkeeper he wasn't going to shoot. What was he going to do? Stand there and juggle the ball? ...

Re: Relegation

Yes, why should we not? there was a team here before the 21st century you know. it wouldn't be depressing/waste of time and money? No I`m old enough to remember lower league football, it wasn`t depressing then and it won`t be if this happens, I`ll be sad yes after 20 years in the top two tiers who ...
