Re: Sorry from West Ham

What's your take on the cutting of ticket prices to fill the OS having an effect on Leyton Orient's attendance and viability? I find it absolutely hilarious. The fact that a side that averages what about 2.5k per match, run by some clueless clown, believe they deserve a ground share. Bizarre. I hat...

Re: Which was the worst relegation and why?

I was genuinely excited when we got Meaker, but he was utterly dreadful for us. I was disappointed to see Asaba leave too. Pretty sure he would have scored quite a few in the third tier. 1 player i've never got over losing is Simon Osborn/Osbourn/Osbourne/Osborne I think thats why i hated Meaker so...

Re: Crewe

Does this mean they have all played together for years? 17/5 for the win.. Surely most of them played together the week before though, except with a different keeper. 17/5 is a good price for a team with Crewe's not-exactly-a-disaster home record, but Walsall haven't lost for 15 matches. Anyway, be...

Re: Back to the 80's - punch up in the stadium

1. Immediate 500k fine on Millwall 2. Suspension from next year's FA Cup 3. The idiot policy of holding FA Cup semis at Wembley should be abandoned Actual outcome, pathetic fine and slapped wrists. No enquiry into ticketing arrangements. No chance of that, the financing of the stadium requires as m...

Re: Non - League thread 2012/13

Can you imagine AZ or Madejski getting involved with supporters like this? I can remember JM walking onto the terraces at Leyton Orient in 1992, when we were managerless and getting thrashed 0-4, to engage with the supporters. Probably not the wisest move. IIRC he was keen on canvassing opinion abo...

Re: What would you prefer?

How many clubs have won the 1st division? We've won it twice in 5 or 6 seasons. Clubs will always belittle others, but that is a great achievement and makes us far from 'tin pot'. there cannot be many clubs though that would enjoy the chance to win it twice in 5 or six seasons. Aiming this statemen...

78 was good. Scotland being thoroughly embarrassing in the games they supposedly Were going to win and the West Germany v Austria fiasco We'd just moved down from Edinburgh to Woodley in 1978. I thought that everyone would be supporting Scotland, and when they saw our car bedecked in "Scotland...

Re: f365 steal: Top 10 Overcapped England Players

Problem with looking back more than a decade at players with a lot of caps is you forget just how unchallenged a lot of them were for their place. They may have been bad but most of them were the best of a poor lot. I'd agree with that, someone mentioned Mick Mills earlier and he was indeed a terri...

Re: f365 steal: Top 10 Overcapped England Players

I'd like to move, if I may, to Singapore's greatest footballing export, Terence Ian Butcher 87 caps in all, the majority of these gained under the tutelage of Bobby Robson, his former club manager at Ipswich, many gained whilst keeping far better players (I am thinking about Des Walker (a criminally...

Also regarding Hargreaves, sandman .......also had experience of a different football culture which more English players could do with.

Certainly not going to disagree with that.

Re: f365 steal: Top 10 Overcapped England Players

Owen Hargreaves has 42 caps - see comments for Keiron Dyer. My personal unfavourite on this topic would be Ray Wilkins, his 84 caps compare nicely to Glenn Hoddles haul of 53. Obvs I've wikied these totals. Hargreaves? He made the team of the tournament in 2006 and was one of England's best players...

Re: Internationals thread where we moan about England lots

The sizes of the smallest nations means that they're never realistically going to compete. There are currently 53 UEFA members, the bottom 12 are basically all the smallest and the poorest. 4 group prequalification, 4 winners join the other 41, to give 9 groups of 5. Smallest teams get 6 guaranteed...

Is the rent just for the football season or the whole year? I.e who gets the future revenue from concerts in the summer etc? Everything I've read on the subject indicates that the stadium holding company will setting up a separate operator to manage the non-sporting events, and that revenues genera...

From Despair To Where? Picture of Eric Cantona lifting the League trophy. Is that a youthful Dylan Kerr I see 2nd right?

Good spot. Certainly easier on the eye than the contents of Lee Chapman's shorts.
