Re: Cambridge (A)

Of course armed forces are there when they're needed and rightly so but they are only needed in the defence of a country they should not be there, as Clyde says, to be used, as they so often are, as a private aggressor acting on behalf of a load of scumbag politicians wanting to inflict pain, death...

Re: Cambridge (A)

Aye, jingoist nonsense. Firefighters, police, coastguard etc all risk their lives for the public good. Doctors and nurses save lives. Teachers educate for the betterment of society. Binmen stop us wading through our own refuse and reduce disease. The US fetishism of the military is toxic imo. I thi...

Re: Cambridge (A)

I'm with St P here. Armed Forces are quite well paid these days-why don't nurses and doctors get a concession as they save lives.? I agree with youngsters as they are the future but students and oldies' concessions I don't agree with either despite being a grateful beneficiary of one of those at Re...

Re: BFTG Port Vale

Total sh@t result and a very poor performance. The game is always about taking chances. The missed penalty changed the game. One of the things that I have always disliked intensely is the fickle love and hate displayed towards players. We’ve not won in 15 games. Our new manager has been im charge of...

Re: Cambridge (A)

St Pauli Why do armed forces come under concessions?

Bit American for me.

If so, it’s one of the few positive of the recent cultural imports from the US.

For me, serving armed forces shouldn’t have to pay.

A much worthier ‘concession’.

Won a midweek Six a side with Mapledurham under 12s - at Wokingham Town old ground - under floodlights for the first time - great memories…. 1974-75… And lined up alongside Neil Webb, for the same team v Woodley Hammers at the start of that season and I scored two in a 4-4 draw - I bet Neil still t...

Re: Injury watch 2023/24

Watching an old game from the 80s is like watching in slow motion compared to now. God knows what the 60s looked like. Used to watch Superstars on the telly back in the 70s and footballers were usually the crappiest most unfit stars competing. If that programme came back on the telly now reckon the...

The signings sound good on paper but it doesn't mean they'll be successful No! Really!? And you know his true feeling how? Because The Daily Mail said so? How many refugees have you hosted in your household? Re: Summer 2023 Transfer Speculation

To be fair, the clock is ticking. Every day we don't make signings, we have less time to let the team gel ahead of the season. We're going in undercooked and will likely start the season slowly. The club have used up all our patience this summer. Be moving too quickly means we may just sign a playe...

Re: HMRC Winding up petition/order

Coverage of Bayern will generate far more interest than coverage of half of League 2 combined. Those compiling this info are probably more likely to have had the story just pop up in their twitter feed. Minimal effort reporting. Minimal effort maximum reach vs massive effort minimal reach. Exactly
