Re: MATCHWATCH : Barnsley (a) sponsored by Simon Osborn

Here's an interesting thing about fans. Often we issue an opinion that is different on what is "right" than the manager, such as on Saturday. On Saturday, Bowen chose that we were "less" right than him. He was wrong and he will rightly take full accountability for the performance...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (h) sponsored by Martin Hicks

Bowen said Ovie was training in midweek. Is he just getting a bit more rest ahead of a hectic schedule? Or are we back to unspecified injuries ruling half our squad out? Same question with Baldock too. Bad call to go same starting 11 as Wigan. We were shit until our subs. I get ditching 5-3-2 would...

Re: CONFIMRED - Ovie Ejaria

Its not. I've asked my inside contacts. Why would Liverpool FC lie on their official website? https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/first-team/359739-ovie-ejaria-liverpool-reading-move-confirmed Think the Liverpool Echo should have read that article https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/footbal...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (h) sponsored by Martin Hicks

Right, I have an uncomfortable hunch here. Firstly, our home record against Brum over the past 5 years is 2 draws and 3 losses. Secondly, Bowen hasn't had a truly bad result yet and may be due one. Thirdly, over the past few years, whenever we've looked decent the bubble has burst at some point and ...

Re: Reading FC team of the decade

Even if Guthrie wasn't right for McD, he should have been the right sort of player to flourish under Adkins, especially in the Championship. Ultimately a big disappointment.

windermereROYAL Just home after a long day out, this thread is comedy genius. do any fans turn has much as our lot?

The idea that only Reading fans are fickle and make emotional overreactions is frankly ridiculous. Yes, other fans are as bad as us.

Re: 2019/20 Injury Watch

Just for Spizz's sake... Swift - out for 3-4 weeks Ejaria - ill, presume he'll be back next week Baldock - haven't heard the latest Obita - was touch and go for today, in contention for next week with a whole week of training behind him Just as soon as we get Joao and Boye back, we get another coup...

Today was important. Can brush off Brentford and Leeds as tough games now. The next 5 look tasty; another 10 points or so and we'll be looking up.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Wigan Athletic (a) sponsored by a long trek up north

Cracking result. Had me very worried at 1-0 with 15 to go, but that’s a good win. Only second win after going behind in last 2 years or something as well Great to win without our 2 best players as well. Should breed lots of confidence Puscas could do with spreading his goals out a touch more. Bit o...

Re: If Reading didn’t exist

Surely the answer is, if your home town doesn't have a club you will either support the club your Dad (or Grandad) did or whoever was the biggest club at the time - as that is what kids do. So I'd probably be a rugby fan with no interest in football whatsoever beyond a passing interest in the World...

Re: January Transfer Window

Loader could be a quality player for whom it just didn't work out here due to his stage in development and the instability we've had at the club. Last season was always going to be difficult for an 18 year old to break through, though admittedly he had many chances. Given the contract situation and ...

Re: January Transfer Window

Loader rumours starting up again - apparently Man Utd interested. Could this just be a case of a talented player coming through at the wrong time? Relegation battles, manager turnover, unclear how to fit his role into our system (what is his best position?) I think accept an offer, build in a hefty ...

Re: Have we sold the Mad Stad to the owners/someone else?

How likely is a big points deduction and relegation? Birmingham lost 9 points last year, but this basically sounds like accounting fraud to circumnavigate the rules. Should be at least double the penalty.

We offered Sidwell more money than Chelsea did :o

If only he'd accepted; we could have had a solid 4-5 year stint in the PL.

I'm going to go for 8 points. Draw at Brentford, lose to Leeds, draw at Wigan, win final 2. Don't underestimate Wigan at their place; they are strong at home.

Re: Richards Obita or Blackett ?

I probably favour: LB - Blackett, Obita, Richards LWB - Obita, Richards, Blackett But Richards has really come on and ultimately its whoever is training and playing best. If Swift is taking all the corners then Obita is slightly less valuable, as he used to have a superb corner on him back in the J...
