Re: MATCHWATCH : Rotherham United (h)

I don't expect LR to fix overnight. It seems like over the summer we signed a collection of decent players but without a coherent strategy, and have no real playing style or identity. Hunt bears some responsibility; a manager should be saying the profile of player he wants, with more criteria than j...

Re: What to do with the troublesome AM role?

With an AM you want a creative player, who understands space, with a good pass and a decent record for scoring goals outside of the box. I’m not sure why we wouldn’t put Wing in there. I get that the old/current idea is to have Wing deep so he can “quarterback” long passes into the final third, but...

Re: Ex Royals

Leandro Bacuna will captain Curacao at the world cup next year. Some achievement for them to qualify.

Obviously Steve Clarke will be there too.

Re: World Cup 2026

Was just writing how idiotic that Danish player was, then saw the replay. Shocking decision, though I bought it too in real time.

Re: World Cup 2026

Barely 25 minutes in and Scotland already look like a lower league team trying to defend an FA Cup lead against a PL side. Can't see them holding on.

Winston Biscuit McTominay :o

Amazing what leaving Man Utd can do for a player.

Re: Ex Royals

He says as much in the interview. I liked him but something clearly went wrong in that second season. The first points deduction hit in November, form dropped off a cliff about a month prior. RIP Jahmari Clarke Sweet Prince They may well have known, or maybe heard rumours, internally about the poin...

Re: Rival Watch

Fifteen points is the entire points spread of the league after fifteen games (for most). This time last year the gap between 1st and 24th was 24pts and the team in 17th was 8pts off the play-offs (so not much different there) Does seem the big difference is no one appears to be running away...

Re: Rival Watch

Hound It’s certainly a very even league this year. No one outstanding at all - but also the teams at the bottom are relatively strong as well

I could see a side getting relegated with >50 points a team getting into the play-offs with <70 points.

Re: Rival Watch

12th to 18th, the teams below us are having a good day. But still 5 clear of relegation zone. In addition to Stevenage losing, Bradford, Wimbledon, Lincoln and Stockport are losing. It's easy to deride the likes of Savage for suggesting top 6 given our start, but it's definitely an open league. Ple...

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Interesting that Edwards wants to go to Wolves. I think their squad is shocking, he'll lose most games and almost certainly get relegated, and that Middlesbrough have a better chance of being in the PL next season. But I guess the immediate lure of the PL is strong, and if he somehow keeps them up i...

Re: Players on international duty

windermereROYAL Wigan game off.

With this and no FA Cup 2nd round game, Richardson has plenty of time early doors to implement his ideas and get some players working on their fitness.

Re: Opposition fans back from the game - 24/25 page 225 onwards

Reading are a has-been club, on the way down. We are on the up even though we lost tonight. Two and a half weeks to get these two, recent, poor results out of our system. Then we go again...not the end of the world. More lessons to be learnt by everyone and we'll come out fighting again. COYB I rem...
