Re: Rival Watch

You have to laugh at Birmingham; they survived easily the season we got relegated and looking good lying in 6th in early October, when the new American owners decided to sack the Manager John Eustace and bring in someone to "instill the winning mentality and positive culture" that the new...

Re: Weekend Football

I presume you’re referring to the first penalty. Was discussing this with a Gooner mate last night and he thinks it wasn’t a great deal different to the Rice/Davies incident from the North London derby. Whether we like it or not, Ait Nouri was late and anywhere else on the pitch that’s a foul And t...

Re: Weekend Football

Man City are good enough to win without Craig Paulson’s help. :| I presume you’re referring to the first penalty. Re: Is there a better front 6 in world football

https://i.ibb.co/dkPphYx/IMG-9364.jpg A shame that football is played by 11 and not 6. With 3 of the forward midfielders very left-footed maybe there could be a problem with balance but it is a very good 6. Where does our back 5 come in world ratings? Nowhere near the top IMHO. BTW France and Portu...

Re: On this day

Oh look, blue shorts. Oh look, white shorts  https://www.readingchronicle.co.uk/resources/images/13526183/ The previous posting to yours showed our greatest ever team wearing blue shorts-I prefer them but would go with white-only socks. What about boots-should they all be the same colour?

Re: Ups & Downs 23/24

Crikey. What a final day this must have been https://i.ibb.co/nLm4MLC/Screenshot-20240426-205713-Samsung-Internet.jpg Buckie Thistle told yesterday they don't meet the requirement to join the Scotch Football League, so the authorities decided no one is getting promoted from the Highland League. Men...

Re: Weekend Football

In fairness Leicester did sell 2 of their best players-that also means, unless they buy again next season, their squad will be significantly weaker than when they were relegated with Vardy (or Old Man Steptoe as he looked like last night) then being about 60 years old.

Blue shorts, white socks for me.
White shorts tend to go better with a full colour shirt such as blue or red IMHO.

Re: Weekend Football

If Burnley can pick up a couple of points that is gonna be a cracker. I so want Forest to go down. They offer bugger all in the PL. One of the few sides to take on the bigger clubs and they gave City a bit of a fright in the fist half. I wonder if City will regret not pushing on to score a couple m...

Re: Weekend Football

Hadn't realised they were on such poor form. Forgot they'd had as good as start they did. So De Zerbi is just another average premiership manager? appears so... Credit to Bournemouth even though Brighton have loads of injuries. Bournemouth are going to finish comfortably mid -table. Amazing what a ...

Best choice for him in terms of development is to stay put and develop in a consistent environment. Hopefully step up a level with us to make the transition easier. Best choice for him in terms of maximising immediate earnings is go and sit in a Championship reserve side. I think he could be a star...

8) the bed has been well and truly shat in! Surprised you haven’t mentioned the United bed shitting Although a home point against the mighty Burnley must’ve been a pleasant relief  The difference is, one team was in a title race, but not anymore! United have been shite all season, a lot of in...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Blackpool (h)

Azeez and Bindon are off. Clearly farewell vibes to their celebrations and lap of honour I wonder if Azeez will still go to Plymouth if they get relegated which is a possibility. Surely a Champ club would want Bindon and ,if so, it would be a big gap for us to fill. Hopefully we would get a good fe...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Some suggestion in the ether that Liverpool are in talks with Olise's representatives and are also eyeing up Jarred Bowen. I would have thought that Bowen is more a Liverpool forward/winger if they continue to play at pace up front. Olise is more of a controlled player who probably performs better ...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

What I find interesting are the comments about Liverpool players such as Nunez not taking chances, Salah way off the pace, Trent can't defend and van Dijk is past it. This is a team that is 3 points off the top and pretty close to a team described as the best in the world and yet do we ever hear su...

Re: Ex Players

Don’t think Palace get enough credit really. They’ve picked up 3 superb champ players for not a huge amount. As said in the article, they are a completely different side when Olise and Eze play, and Wharton looks excellent A pretty good last 3 games for them. Great to see the praise in the media fo...

Would love em to win the PL Username checks out Family thing.....whenever I could escape to Elm Park I would. Dragged against my will to watch them in the 70s 80s and 90s..... Hang on a minute your Spurs.....you still watch them. Sounds a bit like Nick Hornby in reverse. It does seem as though Spur...
