Re: England - the future....

Post up your first elevens! There's a worry of shoehorning attackers in rather than having a balanced team (the old Lampard/Gerrard shizzle) It is very difficult to pick an eleven when there is only one left-back in the squad who, even by Southgate's admission in interview, comes with major fitness...

Would never have thought of him as manager material but good luck to him.
The article didn't mention his very successful time at Bristol Rovers.

Re: England - the future....

Lol at 'completely outshone' they are two completely different players for a start. Wharton is an all-bluster destroyer and Mainoo is more attacking on the ball player who plays with the calmness of an experienced 35-year-old veteran. The highlights real below show this Mainoo - https://www.youtube...

Re: England - the future....

Much like the fuss around Mainoo I reckon. Very good player there already and could turn out to be excellent within a couple of seasons but hyped a bit too much given the number of games played. Not noticed how much pace he's got, which could be a good sign as I've not seen him getting left for dea...

How good is Quansah btw? I know some of the dippers on here rate him but they also said the same about Gomez Much like the fuss around Mainoo I reckon. 6ft Kerplunk
South Coast Royal Fortunately Toney has progressed so that any injury to Kane would not now be a national disaster.

Has he? He's not been that good since he came back from his ban and is a bit lucky to be in the provisional squad.

So who would you have taken in his place?

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

Also, what the circumstances of the club have shown is that if we stabilise, what a fantastic club we are for a young player to be at. Competitive at PL2 level with a crystal clear path to the first team. Strong argument that any player just below the very top talents, could do a lot worse that com...

So, what are your guesses for the final England Euros squad? My 26 man squad suggestion: Keepers ⋅ Pickford ⋅ Henderson, D ⋅ Ramsdale Defenders ⋅ Maguire ⋅ Stones ⋅ Walker ⋅ Trippier ⋅ Konsa ⋅ Guehi ⋅&nbs...

Re: Rival Watch

And stop Reading FC too. Really doesn't help us having Bolton in L1 next year. Don't think we are in serious contention anyway, unless we make some clever signings. Playoff form for most of the year, top 5 attendances - an extremely young squad comprising some of the best U21s in the country. We're...

South Coast Royal I suppose the fact that one of the Chiron blokes was previously involved with Charlton should speed up the process for good or bad .

Malcolm Rifkind isn't it?

No IIRC, he was an MP but it is a Rifkind.

.
It seems as though Ziyech has done well after not getting the transfer away that he wanted.

No need for VAR IMO. Referees should be able to use the years of training and experience they’ve accrued to make better decisions. It’s a tough gig but they’re supposed to be the elite referees We don’t let strikers re-take one on ones if they miss or goalkeepers have another chance if they let an ...

Re: VAR

My reading of this was that it was intended to be used as they do in cricket, when a team goes up to the 3rd umpire; they have a certain number of reviews which they use when they think a mistake has been made. If they were right, they keep that review; if wrong, they lose it. If they use up all of...

If I were a child I wouldn't want Pickford to come and visit me in Alder Hey.

BTW do catholic priests still get in free at Goodison?
