Re: Thursday night, Channel 5 - The 2012/13 Europa League Th

To anyone going, have your passport on you at all times.

If the Dutch police stop you for any reason, and you can't produce your ID, they'll cart you off to the cells for a few hours while they check out your details. Not ideal if you were on your way to the match at the time.

Re: we've got three and a half sides now...

development of the rec is out of the clubs hands. it is a council facility. So if the club said they were going to improve the ground, the council would refuse? Seems unlikely. Either way, the club currently falls between two stools, being a fairly big conference club, or a small league one. The cl...

Re: PETITION - Away Ticket Pricing

13000 empty seats, even at Old Trafford, would be glaringly obvious Which I think it sometimes is. When the camera pans out you can often see quite a few empty seats and I would imagine the ones higher up, that we don't usually see on camera, would be even more likely to be empty. only needs 1 in e...

Re: Promotion/Relegation Watch

TBM Arsenal have been relegated, but not since 1913!

Arsenal also haven't been promoted since 1904.

They were just rather dubiously "invited" to join the expanded Div 1 in 1920, in much the same way that Qatar was "invited" to host the World Cup in 2022.

football in the area is definitely stronger for having the Shots at as high a level as possible BUT they got relegated fair and square and not many fans went to try and help them out of it. for all that they're a phoenix club and haven't been around to enjoy the changes in football in the last 20 y...

Re: PETITION - Away Ticket Pricing

That is a trend that is most definitely happening. The average number of games that supporters attend is going down, as they pick more and which ones to go to. But it's not just on economic grounds - even for season ticket holders, the number of matches attended seems to be going down. Maybe it's t...

Re: Has Sky ruined football?

Despicable that $ky get exclusivity of some National matches (including Cricket/Rugby etc etc), whoever sold out the rights to this should be kneecapped with a slow running battery drill. when I was growing up they didn't even show England matches live in the qualifiers usually. There were hardly a...

Re: Worst start to a RFC manager's career?

Barry the bird boggler Bullivant managed us to 1 draw and 5 defeats when he started in 1997 including embarrassments at home to QPR and Sw*ndon. Ergo he is the worst after 6 games.....

the 7th game saw us beat Oxford 2-1, having us think we'd turned the corner, only to lose the next game 0-6 at Tranmere.

Re: Boycott West Ham Away

There does seems to be a general air of arrogance towards Reading, particularly the common judgement of "your support is shit because only X number of fans showed up, you weren't very loud, you're a 'plastic' club, your fans left early' etc that seems to get churned out over the various web po...

Villa, Sunderland and Newcastle all on 37. Norwich 38. Saints 39.

Wigan back on 32 points, but with a game in hand.

Ouroboros Villa 2-1 up - think that's curtains guys.

Unless somehow we beat Man City.

Do we get extra points for beating Man City then?

Re: Which was the worst relegation and why?

Looking forward to the Championship in all honesty - as this season has just been horrible and no one at the club – players, management, owners or even number 13 come out of it with any credit at all. What the hell is that supposed to mean? The fans have supported and been more committed than the p...

that isn't the fair play league that's used, as said above.

Re: Which was the worst relegation and why?

This year has been awful because I've never seen us go down with such a whimper before, but in some ways the fact that I took relegation for granted by September made it easy. 1998, for me was the hardest. We didn't have a great team, but there looked no danger at all in around February. As I rememb...

Re: Non - League thread 2012/13

Stone Dynamoes much featured on the NL Forum for their regular slaughterings too - think the 42-0 topped them all though. Bear in mind this is their Reserves - the firsts have already left the NWCFL and indeed the Reserves have resigned from the above league with immediate effect and their record h...

Re: Fair Play - Reading in Europe?

The other criteria is that England has to be one of the small number of countries awarded a fair play place. It all seems rather unlikely. To be honest, as good as a european trip would be, I'd be embarrassed about "qualifying" in a such a way, and I'd worry about us being embarrassed on t...

Re: Fair Play - Reading in Europe?

For crying out loud that's what I said Rev!!! it read as "in the league" rather than "in the fair play table" I don't think anyone was under the impression we could qualify without being the best placed team in the fair play league (unless higher teams were in Europe). We are no...

Re: Fair Play - Reading in Europe?

Thought someone already explained that - Any placing would go to the highest team in the league not already in ...
