The game was transmitted live on Betfair website, for those who have an account and are not restricted by their company filters blocking access to gaming websites

I was worried about the prospect of facing the Aussies in the 2nd round, but on that performance, they won't be going that far...

Re: Players released

Bristol City do not have pots of money to splash out on our players. They survive on crowds lower than we get, and have not had the Prem years to boost the coffers. I can't see Coppell raiding us too heavily, offering unrealistic 2 year deals at inflated salaries to tempt away our more experienced h...

Re: Reserves to arrange own fixtures

Doesn't the Premiership have its own reserve league? If so, how willing will these teams be to arranging friendly fixtures against Reading reserves? On the face of it, I think this is a backward step, as although the Combination games weren't regular, I can't see the frequency or the quality of oppo...

Re: 8 Years Ago Today

Notice how early the season finished because of the World Cup Interestingly (or not) I went to Japan, and at the Denmark game, a group of us got into a discussion about teams that we hate. I was stood next but one to a Bees fan, whose stated hated team was Reading, based on the fact that it was the ...

Griffin's Hamstring Injury

Just seen on the injuries and bans section of the OS that Griffin has a hamstring injury that will be scanned this week. Does anyone have any further details about this? Major RB worry for Sunday, especially with Bryn struggling also

Re: What game is John Fearn talking about? :-|

My guess would be he made reference to knocking them out of the cup and the 6-0 beating but good old Fordham got it wrong when he wrote up the article. That sounds very likely. I remember us getting knocked out by Villa after beating the shammers. I was struggling to remember who we played in the l...

Very fondly remembered in this quarter for the goal against Liverpool, which gave the club arguably its biggest ever result.

Re: Next Manager

Royal Lady Someone on another thread said BR was on 6 month probation period, and so JM doesn't have to pay him any compensation.

Cheap option.

If this is true, the six months expired on 5th December, so we would indeed be paying compensation

I can see him ending up at Newcastle. There's no way he would want to come here, let alone Reading being able to pay his wages

Re: Worst Reading goalkeeper?

Colgan nearly got the vote for the 1-0 defeat at Crewe, when he kicked a backpass straight at their attacker's body to concede the only goal, but there really is only one winner of such a contest - Sheppard, who was truly awful. I'd put Jimmy Quinn ahead of him in terms of goalkeeping quality

Re: Plymouth v Barnsley game

I remember the Leicester replay. Quite disgraceful. Was Reading vs Bury in the Coca-Cola Cup 95/96 (abandoned at 0-2 due to a waterlogged pitch, 2-1 win in the replay) also a disgrace? No, it was highly amusing! Mick Gooding virtually pleaded with the referee to call the game off at 2-0 after about...

Gordons Cumming I know someone who sat on the same table as Mr Mad at a social event recently and John is not a happy man.

I don't think he's enjoying it..........and I don't mean the meal.

I've heard a very similar story, along the lines of he owns a football club, but simply does not like football
