Re: Bowen Out.

I don't think that would be the case. We wouldn't have to look cheap because we would probably have about £20m in the bank from the sale of those two alone. Reinvest it in excellent young players/established players already in the Championship or League 1. I am not saying Moore or Swift should be s...

Re: VAR

The Burnley - Bournemouth decisions weren't crazy for me, if a touch harsh and obviously Garth Crooks saying that once Mike Dean had said it wasn't a pen that should have been the end of it was stupid beyond belief However, the VAR controversies in the Chelsea and Leicester games would bring to an ...

Re: VAR

VAR isn’t the issue. The issue is the complete lack of any ethical principles in football. Zero respect for officials, zero respect for your opponent. There would be no need for VAR if there was a healthy attitude in the game that said ‘we ask officials to referee honestly and without bias, but we ...

Re: VAR

Aye, but the pundits and pros don’t make a meal of it and thus the narrative is a lot more palatable to watch as a spectacle. The football coverage is just so much less appealing when you have those decisions coupled with Garth Crooks going off for 10 minutes. Sure the rule makers can reflect on le...

Re: wage bill

Reports put their annual wage bill at around 35 million. That would put our average salary at something like 30k per week. Which is clearly bullshit. Our wage bill has been lower than 35m for a while, but not a lot. It certainly won't be much lower than 25m. Probably somewhere between 28 and 32. Wo...

Re: VAR

paultheroyal Apologies if mentioned but is VAR in operation around the world? Do they not have the same issues?

A few weeks ago I remember seeing some interview with someone from FIFA who said that the way it had been used in England was not the way it has been implemented in other countries

Re: VAR

What the hell is going on tonight ? Antonio through and very clearly onside, but linesman flags. Not a VAR decision but still a crap one. Followed by Aguero being pulled back by Ogbonna. Even if, as the commentators kept saying, he was flagged offside, it should have been checked. However, the game ...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

City cope fine switching managers, but Liverpool might slip if Klopp goes... It should probably worry the PL that rather than Gerrard, Julian Nagelsmann is already seen as Klopp's heir, for the way he sets up the RB Leipzig side, and his similar outlook on the game. And he'll still only be 36 when ...

Re: VAR

Can't reconcile myself to the fact that the laws need changing because of VAR. VAR should be there to support the laws as they stand. The simple answer is that if you can't tell within, say, 15 seconds, whether a player is offside, then the original decision stands. No need to change the bloody laws...

Stranded
Franchise FC Holy shit !
The last thing we need is Liverpool to get knocked out of the CL. They’d actually try in all the PL games

Liverpool will win the 2nd leg 3-0.

Let's hope so, otherwise they'll only have the domestic double to concentrate on

Re: VAR

Yeah, I can't see how deliberately putting your boot into an opponents nads isn't at least a yellow card. I was agreeing that he prolly should have been sent off. From memory, I thought it was the leg he held high that made contact. I could view that as protecting himself I was agreeing with you ag...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Very little cover in defence and attack to cover injuries is the only thing I can think off... TBF you were saying this earlier in the season and it seems to be working out You haven't had long term injuries to key players that don't have replacements VDD, TAA, Salah, Mane etc There is an element o...

Re: LOLiverpooLOL - Next Season

Chelsea's loss last night means Liverpool are the first team to qualify for the 2020/21 Champions League. Goes without saying but this is the earliest that that has been achieved. Trying to find the article, I think it was on Unibet - there are in the region of 35 records that Liverpool could set t...

Re: VAR

The Willian one has contact, but not sure there’s enough to do down which is another discussion for itself The Maguire one wasn’t a red card, just like the Son one wasn’t a few weeks ago against Chelsea Chelsea’s first has obvious contact, not sure if Fred pushed Azpilicueta in the first place thou...

Re: VAR

VAR on off-sides will settle down. Stick to the procedure of the line - and if you are off you are off albeit knee, shoe whatever. Maguire was clearly a red. I have no idea how they came to that non conclusion. Maguire admitted himself he was very worried and basically his "personality" m...
