Re: Coronavirus outbreak

John Salako has not been diagnosed with coronavirus. Seems to be using isolation as an opportunity to promote tournaments on EA Sport's FIFA 20. No h8 for the guy but we got him at the wrong end of his career. Really good in Division Two, fine in our first season in Division One, then not up to it. ...

Jagermesiter1871 Looking forward to Kingsley being sold to the owners next year for £45million. Running out of things to sell after him though.

We can't sell Kingsley. Heart and soul of the club. Sell Queensley.

Whichever we sell will just be leased back to us for £2m a year.

Re: Finance

It's incredible that the club can spend so much and be so consistently terrible. Is it six seasons out of seven now that we've been in or near a relegation battle? Ultimately it's down to poor recruitment, buying overrated and unmotivated players for fees that are too high, and paying them over the...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Just spotted that Singapore, after apparently being very successful in containing the virus, are now starting to ‘lockdown’ after a second surge Again, just shows by flattening that first curve, it’s not really solving anything long term Just because you flatten the curve doesn`t mean the virus has...

Re: The Local Journo Thread

Pretty shambolic article all round. Stam left before Loader had even turned 18, and Clement and Gomes seemed to place a lot of faith in him.

Fair to say he hasn’t progressed or even really stepped up to the first team but getting into the stuff about his middle name is bizarre.

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

That’s probably a helpful frame of mind for individuals, but it’s an absolutely useless one when it comes to running a society.

Re: Omar Richards interest

Obita is our best left back. He's put in some very good performances. He offers by far the most going forward, as shown by the goals he's scored and his history as a winger, and is no worse than the others defensively. Fin.

And then you look across the floor and see Diane Abbott. Surprises me that Abbott is the one picked out as “stupid” given that she’s by far the most intelligent figure on the British left. Quick comparison: Jeremy Corbyn was given every advantage in life and dropped out of his degree in Trade Union...

Royal Rother Call out a black person as being incompetent and the racist card gets (gently) played. It’s pathetic tbh.

Can’t even single out black people without being criticised, complains elderly Windsor man.

As if Dominic Raab could be running this country for a couple of weeks. He's so oxf*rd stupid he'll probably try to defeat the virus with his karate. Why is he stupid ? looking at his career so far on Wikipedia he seems to be a fairly intelligent chap, given what he has achieved so far at a relativ...

He will confess after two weeks that he hadn’t realised the importance of hand washing.

Re: Enjoying or hating the no football era?

This is an internet myth as far as we know. There is no contemporary evidence of a foundation date or meeting. Extremely unlikely it would have been before Nov 1871. Not before November? It definitely can't be Xmas Day then. Eh? There was interest in setting up football clubs locally in Nov / Dec 1...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

Anyone care to place a bet that the actual death rate for the total population falls in the UK this year? I think it will I think you’re right. I’d nonetheless be willing to place the bet if we did it for charity, but I think the chances of us remembering to check are pretty long. Also think some o...

I don’t really like your sensationalism Snowball (as I have said a few times) but underneath that, you’re bang on. CORRECTION: your second post mitigates this dramatically. My only quibbles with your last line: - There are, I believe, one or two occasional posters on here who were alive for the Batt...

Re: Coronavirus outbreak

I’m a supporter of effective altruism and think the celebrities donating huge sums to the NHS rather than buying malaria nets are slightly misguided. However, saying “tuberculosis causes x deaths a year so we shouldn’t stop coronavirus” is just transparently stupid and requires no further comment.

Re: BFTG Sheff U FB

There is no single “way”, but if you’ll forgive me for simplifying, if you’re zonally marking at a set piece then generally you’re not going to be too bothered about “the men” and just focus on winning the ball. If there are two men in your zone then just beat them both. Have you been to a Reading m...
