Re: Is our academy really shining now?

Barry the bird boggler Andre Boucard

Promised a lot, never quite good enough to make it here, dropped a league or two for Peterborough and then dropped again into the Conference (not sure where he is now).

Kettering Town.

Re: Gylfi Sigurdsson's accent

I will tell you. I worked in Reading for ten years and their addiction to sound like cokernees is very sad, the normal accent around Reading is a chirpy confident voice but no way near cockernee. Mostly the accent comes from people that want to be cool or think london is cool. FACT Siggi sounds lik...

Re: Back from the game..

I thought the posh keeper looked good, their captain too. I think once Federici decides to take up one of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Arsenal's offer of where to sign, we should make a bid for lewis. Will need to move quickly and bid big money. As a highly rated England U21 keeper, I susepct he will...

Re: Back from the game..

What a brilliant performance from the lads. To think that only a few months ago this would've been a relegation scrap the turn around has been amazing. Fed - Good distribution didn't have a save to make.7 Griff - We have to try our upmost to sign him thought he defended well and what a ball to relea...

Re: Rasiak unhappy with number of starts

Royalee Idiot Reading fans on Rasiak's back - we'd have been dead an buried at Christmas if it wasn't for him - if Church and Long could finish off as high a percentage of chances as him we'd be in the playoffs already.

Actually if it wasn't for Brendan Rodgers we'd be in the Play-offs already.

Re: Rasiak unhappy with number of starts

I suppose it depends on the clubs ambition - perhaps im being too optimistic, but if we seriously want to mount a promotion bid next season then only Long and Hunt are good enough. I would get rid of a 9 goal season striker who runs around like a headless chicken and would think about sending Churc...

Re: Reading fans who came from other clubs

voyager1 Has anyone else on here ever came to Reading, originally as an away supporter for another team? or have some other story which doesn't involve the traditional "I was taken to my first Reading match at the age of 8"?

Only started going at 8 years old. Bloddy Plastics.

Re: Back from the game - Newcastle

I went with a Newcastle fan who was very impressed with us, said we should've got something out of the game and tipped us to challenge for promotion next season.

Re: 09/10 Team vs 05/06 Team

This team are only just starting out you can't compare them to the best side Reading and The Championship has ever seen. There may well be individuals in the current squad who are better players than the 05/06 team but as most of those players have proved since they left, that team was great because...

Re: European Leagues Thread 2008/2009

Messi deliberate handball for the first goal which should've resulted in his second yellow. Alves should've been given a second yellow for a foul on Ronaldo and Raul had a perfectly good goal disallowed. Barca played well but the ref let them get away with everything something which a team as great ...

Re: What the papers say: Leicester

Far Canal Leicester manager Nigel Pearson had no complaints. “I’m disappointed because we didn’t deserve to lose,” he said.

A. Saying that they didn't deserve to lose seems like a complaint to me. And B. Now he knows how we felt after losing the Mad Stad game.

And yet another idiot on the texts. "Don't get too excited about games in hand all managers would tell you they'd rather have points on the board". Yes we know that you div, can't we as fans just enjoy the moment and dream of the Play-Offs?

Zidane only really came alive in the '98 final and missed a game in that tournament through being sent off as well. The Euro's 2 years later were his tournament. Messi is carrying Barca to an extent this year, Henry hasn't scored the amount of goals he did last year and Ibrahimovic is not as good as ...

Re: Congratulations Shane Long

I opened this thread thinking it might be on the subject of an award won for his efforts since January perhaps, or an Ireland call-up or maybe he's lost some more weight. I don't give a damn about our player's personal lives though to be honest. How do you gimps even find out this kind of thing any...
