Re: Rumour - John Bostock loan move

As stated in various other threads, the club won't be going for any season-long, youngster loans, as they think the players they already have are better than anything the PL clubs will loan.

Re: Portsmouth Admin

Is it Germany where no club is allowed to operate in debt? Great atmosphere at games fuelled by low ticket prices and a brilliant infrastructure for the fans, financial differential between clubs minimised (Bayern will always be Bayern, of course), clubs developing young players as an affordable al...

Re: Premier League to set up school?

It'd be expanding the clubs' academies. They'd be able to get more training and football out of their academy kids if the didn't have to keep shipping them out to schools to be educated. This way they can own their lives lock, stock and barrell and have complete control over them. Which is pretty m...

Re: HRK or Michail Antonio?

Start with HRK to give him his chance, then bring on Antonio as an impact sub after about 60 minutes.

win-win

Re: Pompey Game in doubt ?

So what happens next? Do they have to exit administration before Saturday to avoid a points deduction? Is that likely to happen straight away now that they've won their court case? Is the transfer embargo lifted with immediate effect? How are they gonna afford new players when presumably, even with...

Re: Pompey Game in doubt ?

We should definately not get Tommy Smith he had his chance to come to us but instead went to a dieing Pompey, its his own fault. I'd have gone too..................probably doubled my wages. It's easy to pay over the odds when it's someone else's money you're paying - but I agree. Re: Goal Music

There will be new goal music - it was chosen yesterday by Brian Mc. (and this should be in club policies) And the music is....... I genuinely don't know on this one - I just know that the decision's been made. If we start this season the way we started last season we'll find out in a couple of mont...

Re: Ryan Bertrand

What was probably said to him was "Ryan, these loan spells are all about building up your experience, and that'll be much more valuable if you get experience from different clubs, not just one." We'd certainly not want a loan player - the club's attitude is that there are no PL loan player...

Re: Ryan Bertrand

I just think he's that good, that even if we have a LB we should of taken the opportunity of resigning Bertrand onloan for another year. There's no harm having cover in the squad, so Williams might of still got his chance. "Dear Marcus Williams - we'd like to offer you this wonderful career-en...

Re: A fit and proper person?

The criteria are being tightened all the time - for instance the FL have now adopted the PL rule on open disclosure of ownership above 10%. But it's only 5 years ago we were told that the clubs "would never accept" any ownership test - unless the government intervenes it's down to the club...

Re: Portsmouth Admin

"The Premier clubs wanted Portsmouth to go to the wall last season and divide all the TV money among themselves," said Sheldon. Barstewards! Never forget that one of the big justifications in setting up the PL was that an 18-team league would "help the England team" as they'd pl...

The PL is ahead of you on that - it's no longer the "F&PPT", it's been renamed the "Directors & Owners Test!"

Re: Portsmouth Admin

Stranded Why Pompey?

Wrong place at the wrong time for them I guess?

There has to be a "first" that they choose to go after and Pompey have just given them the ammo they need.

Bigger debts than most - and a message to the PL.
