Re: Squad Watch 2022/23

The key is the in the same league or above. So, Long and Carroll clearly have played in the Prem. Hutch and Sarr played plenty of Champ football. however, both NGW and Bouzanis may not make the criteria as their careers have been at lower league level. I assume Mbengue’s games in France make him a p...

See Jamal Lowe has gone to QPR on loan. He could do a decent job for us next season

Re: Injury watch 2022/23

With this injury Moore could very easily go out of contract in the summer and not be picked up by another club, given he will be 30. If Ince is still around he may offer him a 2 year deal on, say, £8-9k per week and I think Moore would need to seriously consider that offer, or run the risk of being ...

Re: Rival Watch

Would like to have Rino still as an option, especially to bring on when battling to defend a lead. Had hoped Tetek could be that player but his injury record is killing his career

I think Joao will leave English football. My bet is he will go to Turkey, or even one of the Arab leagues.

Re: Rival Watch

For me we just seem to be playing the type of football many sides have played against us for a number of seasons, while we were trying to play pretty football. How many times did “functional” teams come to the Mad Stad/SCL, sit deep, let us have the ball, play in the counter/attack off of our mistak...

Re: Rival Watch

let's also not forget the huge amount of defensive work that Tom Ince puts in as well when compared to Swift from previous seasons and a good defence starts from the front

Re: BFTG - Preston

We don't ever see Lumley make any really great saves. He has done OK but no more than that. Agree with this. I’m not a goalkeeping coach or expert but his footwork seems slow to get into position and he takes ages to get down to low shots. Reminds me of when we had Mannone. Nothing particularly bad...

Not sure West Brom will be far off the bottom three this season. Certainly a lot of their fans think they are in a relegation battle

Re: MATCHWATCH : Burnley (a)

Hound Would genuinely be interested to know the reason for not giving that - did he think he got a touch, it was a dive etc? Mind blowing
clearly didn’t think it was a dive as he would have booked him, surely?

Re: Burnley (A) BFTG/S

Lumley couldn`t have made two quality saves because Burnley only have 3 on target and 2 of them went in. He was blameless for them having seen the highlights I’m a bit disappointed wit( Lumley’s efforts for both goals. He seems to be slow to get down to any low shot and this one really didn’t seem ...

Re: Squad Watch 2022/23

Not sure Joao will be re-signed if Pince is still manager at the end of the season. Just think he's the wrong type of player (luxury v workhorse) for the style that Ince wants to play in the Championship.

I'd not spend €5m on Loum either. Decent enough, but not €5m decent

Re: BTFG - Bristol City

Reading their forum last night they are talking about Semenyo, their number 11, was going to be sold in the summer for up to £20m! He’s got a scoring record of 1 in 7! Deluded or what? They still think he might go for £10m in January Thought Joao was a compete passenger again yesterday. Was better i...

Re: Kids going to Reading games in other teams colours.

Must admit this was on my radar yesterday as saw a selection of kids in Y24 area with West Ham shirts. Don’t bother me other than “bit odd” reaction. Having said that, my lad has been in “other club kit” but that’s because he’s come from a match in the morning lol. if there was a fair few then mayb...

Re: MATCHWATCH : West Bromwich Albion (h)

My first game in person this season. Didn't like the Carroll/Joao pairing. If we play Joao then I'd prefer to play Ince further forward and more central with Hendrick pushing on as well. I know Hendrick gets a lot of criticism from fans generally but I thought he was decent in the second half, alway...

Re: Rival Watch

Situation with Coventry could be pretty difficult. Wasps don't actually own the stadium (that's still the council) but own Arena Coventry Limited which is the entity that has a long lease on the property and the right to run the operations of the stadium. That includes a sub-lease to CCFC. With ACL ...

Re: Injury watch 2022/23

Spoke to someone at the club 2 summers ago and he said they had real high hopes for Tetek and last season was going to be his breakthrough year, and hence he wasn't put up for loan. But just hasn't been able to get fit. If he does get fit soon, I'd be tempted to send him into the National League (or...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Huddersfield Town (h)

WTF is that line up? Good to see NGW in, but just 1 midfielder? Two wingers and two strikers? McIntyre and Hendrick in midfield in 4-4-2? Not very clear what's going here. Could be a 4-4-2 but with Hutch in with Hendrick rather than McIntyre. Might be a 3-5-2 though with Ince and Hoilett tucked ins...
