Re: Poll - Adkins In or Out

Out.

I supported his appointment but now I think he isn't capable of getting this team to win games they should be winning.

Sorry Nige and thanks for trying.

Re: Who do you want?

If we don't win one of this weeks games (Rotherham or Charlton), I think its time for a change. We have a big squad (OS shows 38) of talented players and Adkins has had plenty of time to assess them and he has also added 4 players of his choosing in the summer. The issue must be team selection and t...

Re: Watershed.

Federici can kick a ball a long way with reasonable accuracy. I suggest quick release from Feds into either channel. McLeary, Mackie or Obita are all capable of beating a defender and putting in a cross aimed at Murray who can either attack or knock down for Cox to shoot. So our strengths are probab...

Re: Watershed.

Was thinking the same thing. The results are going backwards. We had this with Brendan. Clearly Brendan is a good manager provided he has he players capable of winning games in the style he wants. Adkins aspires to the same but the strengths of our team don't appear to gel with Adkins game plan and ...

Re: Who do you want?

Alan Pardew could be available on a free quite soon.

Other posters have commented that the Southampton side that won back to back promotions was assembled by Pardew, not Adkins.

Plus, he might feel he owe's us one and has something to prove.

Dave Kitson - not TSF (probably)

Just found myself stood next to Dave in a shop queue in Windsor so took the opportunity to ask after how things were post football. He's says not doing much so I asked if he was writing ? "No, why do you ask?" He says. I told him a lot of us thought he was The Secret Footballer and he laug...

Re: Dave Kitson retires...

Quite possibly my favourite ever Reading player. We have had better centre forwards but Kitson got there through hard work and never giving up, he was a 'man of the people' and folk loved him for it. He was the opposite to your Guthrie's and Lita's, he didn't strut around like the world owed him a ...

Dave Kitson retires...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28419253 I will always think fondly of Dave. He played his best football at Reading in what is really our best ever team to date. He spoke his mind and didnt care who it might upset. He hinted on Soccer AM that he turned down a bigger money move between 06 and 0...

Four Word Season

Inspired by a feature on Five Live at the weekend. What four words would sum up your (by which I mean Reading FCs) season? I went for Please someone buyout Anton This could be a short pointless thread, or a long pointless thread that might produce a few smiles. What else have you got to do? There is...

Re: The Jobi McAnuff tribute thread

Jobi always put maximum effort in to every game and this is really all I ever want from our players. I can't abide passengers in the team who swan about, going through the motions.

Thanks for everything you have done for the club Jobi and good luck with what ever comes next for you.

McCarthy to Arsenal apparently...

Arsenal target Alex McCarthy is set to quit Reading. The 24-year-old is seen as a replacement for back-up keeper Lukasz Fabianski, 29, who is leaving.

According to The Sun and BBC

Perhaps this is what Feds tweet about a "fresh start" on Saturday was referring to?

Re: The I hate Brighton Thread

Don't give a toss about Brighton. Don't care who wins the playoffs because, let's be fair, none of the teams in it are going to do anything but get truly hammered in the PL without major surgery. This, by the way is what would have happened to is if we had, by some miracle, gone up this year. The on...

Re: Who would you like in charge next season?

Adkins if he doesn't resign over the undoubted broken promises of the board - with the big proviso that he is allowed to rebuild the team over the summer tailored to whatever budget is available. I am not saying he should be give billions (not that this was ever on the table) but, he should be allow...

He wasn't on air for the Leicester game as was on SKY TV.

Trailer for Wigan game says it Jonnie Saunders as anchor.

Anyone know?

Re: If we get there will you go?

I've been to 3 playoff finals. The second one in Cardiff hurt more than the first. The Dido song "Thank You" montage at the end of the highlights I taped, bringing me to floods of tears every time. Cureton's little smiley face after scoring the first. The Darren Caskey unused sub incident...
