Boro - Fly Me To The Moon 16 pages so far (not all fans will have returned home yet at the time of writing) https://fmttmboro.com/index.php?threads/the-unofficial-official-reading-v-boro-match-day-thread.35794/ Wilder's first ever dropped points against Reading, and high praise for the Park & Ri...

Re: BFTG/TV - M'bro H

Hendrick was massively better than on Wednesday, the furthest forward midfielder throughout the second half. Was completely free and unmarked on 80mins on one of our few breakaways but a poor cross from Ince directed at him failed to find him. Hendrick - ok, some more Drinkwateresque poor passing, w...

a 30 pager - starts off clock-a-block full of what now looks like over-confidence but probably seemed fair enough at the time, finishes full of excuses about tired players....but nothing unreasonable, and plenty of credit to Reading.

Re: BFTG - Blackburn Home

Loum was a revelation to me, I hadn't seen him before. Hendrick's passing wasn't 100%, as noted, but he never gave it up, and several times after missing his pass he would sprint back to cover / win back possession - the polar opposite of Drinko last season who'd just sulk. WRT their penalty shout -...

Re: BFTG - Blackburn Home

Well I haven't enjoyed a game like that for a long time, we really dominated a team that was top of the league and never looked like losing it. There was a reaction from the whole team after the Rotherham debacle, and it worked. Ince got his selection and tactics spot on. I was amazed how poor Blac...

Moore's dribble and shot v Bristol City is a shocking omission from the list. I refuse to take part.

Re: Your worst 11 since supporting RFC?

Can't accept any worst team that has Swales in ahead of Bodin. Yeah not having Swales in any worst team, there are far greater crimes against left backs out there. OK - it's all about expectations. Indulge me. When we signed Bodin I thought "why TF have we signed him, he's an old useless c u n...

Re: Your worst 11 since supporting RFC?

Ollie Kearns scored goals now and then in Div 4 but he seemed to be a really poor player. I can't have that - he was awkward and ungainly and didn't ever really seem to have the ball under control, but 40 goals in 75 + 11 league games is a decent return, and he was second-highest scorer when we wen...

Re: Your Best 11 Since Supporting RFC

First game: 1978 Fave season: 93/94 - we were just so unexpectedly good. We were "better" in later years but the joy of 93/94 was never topped IMO. Shaka Murty Ady Williams Wdowcyzk Shorey Little Osborn Sidwell Gilkes Quinn Doyle Honourable mentions: Bowman my first hero, Dixon, super Trev...

Re: Your worst 11 since supporting RFC?

Phillips, Colgan, vdK, Sheppard all very poor keepers from memory but the worst individual goalkeeping performance I can recall was Scott Howie's 45 minutes of shame away at Wycombe, so poor he was subbed off at HT. Wycombe scored 5 that day, and they played Cherokee war dance music after each goal,...

Re: BFTG - Barnsley

We conceded a goal as a result of the trial, away to Wycombe - we conceded a free-kick, and then gobbed off about the desish, and then the ref moved it forwards 10 yards, and they scored from it. Will look up the game l8r, it should be on the archive somewhere. https://www.royals.org/matdoc/060301....

BFTG - Peter's Borough

Cagey first half, whisper it but we actually had a tactic which was to attack their left full back who was the worst player on the pitch by some distance. We had them at arm's length when they attacked, what was notable was the talking and encouragement between Southwood and the defence, an obvious ...

NewCorkSeth Is Osario not a winger? Have I made that up?

I may have meant Camara there, sorry - very small guy who played CM for most of the match.

Clarke was the only one who looked physically ready.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Swansea City (h)

So who looked most "ready"? I know it's tough to say given the makeup of the team but anyone look a little sharper than the rest? Or a little more physical? I also want to say I'm really glad that the club threw the game away. Immediately helps us just by having one less game to play and,...
