Re: Rival Watch

NathStPaul A study needs to be done into why Huddersfield are so good. They have absolutely no right to be on paper.

Based on the match in Reading, they bring their own referee with them to their games.

Re: Reading FC Womens World

I'm also very pleased to see the return of Rowe, who certainly adds some vigour. In an interview last week, Chambers was quoted as saying it was a full-strength side. Now in addition to Rowe, there were Cooper and Peplow on the bench, but there was no Chaplen. Is she still a Reading player? She is i...

Re: The Academy/Development squads watch thread 2015//16

So we have U23 games on Monday, Friday, Monday. U18 games on Thursday and Saturday. Plus plenty of Academy players will be involved in the first team on Saturday / Tuesday / Saturday / Wednesday. Obviously the first team League games are the priority, although you would think that the Youth cup matc...

Franchise FC That was the year of the TV strike (cameramen, I think), although I thought it was over by the time of the Plymouth game

Typical right-wing lying propaganda. It wasn't a strike, it was because the TV companies weren't prepared to meet football's asking price and terms for coverage.

I regret to say that Oops Upside your Head was played at half-time of the U23 game on Monday, and we will no doubt get it again on Saturday.

Abrefa sent off in second-half injury time. Ehibhationham subbed with 5 minutes to go, a little while after going down injured.

I think you're all being unfair to the useless Brighton defender. She knew that her only chance of stopping the attack was to con the officials. And when you play for such a big club, you expect to get the decisions.

Re: Out of Contract 2022

If we're gping to use the Brayson index then it is important to get it right. It was in fact 49 games as a striker and 1 goal (possibly 42 was the number of League games). Also, the 1 was in a game we lost 3-1 so it had no positive impact. And the staggering thing is that at the time some people tri...

Re: Berks and Bucks senior cup 2021/22

who has the better record historically, Berks teams or Bucks teams? On current boundaries, I make it: Bucks - 71 Berks - 64 Oxon - 1 There was one year it was shared but it was two current Berkshire teams, so that counts as 1 for Berks. On historic counties, it's: Bucks - 85 plus 1 shared Berks - 5...

Sunday's U23 home game against Nottm Forest switched to Madejski Stadium with a new kick-off time of 7 pm. Open to fans and - I think - free entrance.

Re: Transfer deadline day rumours in's and out's

Whilst I have no idea if one-out, one-in really applies there are several ways we can still get one out. A player already out on loan can become a permanent signing, even outside the transfer window. So McNulty could join whichever hopeless outfit he is currently at. A player's contract could be ter...

Have heard direct from EFL that the definition is FIVE matches (maybe starts, not sure) not one, as mistakenly reported on BBC and elsewhere. You are making that up. If you read the official EFL statement regarding the Derby Chorley game which was issued on 20 July in the notes it categorically giv...

tidus_mi2 How many players have turned out for Reading, Oxford and Swindon?

Adi Viveash. Don't know any others.

Alan Judge was at all three clubs but didn't play for Swindon's first team.

I looked at the websites of the four clubs playing League Cup ties this weekend. Only Huddersfield explained what was going on (*), saying that the EFL had granted all teams the chance to play the round 1 fixture before the season, as long as the two clubs both agreed. In our case both clubs have a ...

Canadian international midfielder Deanne Rose has signed - aged 22. I believe she played for Canada v GB at the Olympics yesterday. I watched that game after hearing about the signing so was able to keep an eye out. First time Rose got the ball she immediately looked to go forward, which is what I ...

Elm Park Kid Technically it was the 'First Division' we were relegated from in 98. Never been relegated from 'The Championship'.

Ok. Let’s keep it simple and say we have been relegated twice from the second tier in 88 and 98.

Simple but wrong.

Three times, the other being 1931.

Also interesting that he's now "Hammersmith-born". I thought a couple of years ago that I'd found a birth record for him in London, but recently some websites had said French Guiana. Most sites don't mention his place of birth.
