Who is guilty?

It seems indisputable that if you get promoted to the premiership you have to invest in players and wages accordingly. 20000 Reading fans know you have to spend a minimum of £20m plus to even compete. Frankly you have to be a bit of an idiot if you don't realise this. So who is the guilty party that...

Re: Fans' Verdict - Di Canio?

Cant understand What people have against Di-Canio. He would bring something different and probably the best chance we have of survival. No good players saying he doesn't have premier experience - bit like the pot calling the kettle black. Have to question what those players fear? Impression is that ...

Re: Team for Utd Away

Wonder if Feds would have saved any of those goals. Think he may have had one or possibly two as he can pull off the unexpected. Just think Taylor's looks very shaky as he hasn't played seriously for so long. Going against one of the top teams in the world and missing 4 key players and a manager. Th...

Re: Players don't want Di Canio

One story is that he never gave the players a day off for 3 months so no wonder.I think the players may have had it too easy and been too close. Really nice bloke who the players loved - may have been the main problem. If we start letting the players choose the manager we have real problems

Re: Is it time to consider selling Kebé?

Yes that makes sense. Sell our best player because he gets injured a lot. I think because he relies on his speed he needs to be 100% unlike perhaps other positions. Take the point that it does leave is understrength some of the time though. Then do we get rid of Mcarthy, Feds, etc. Should Aresenal s...

THe force is with us

To stay in the premiership you have to be better than 3 other teams. We haven't been better than any other teams this season. To stay in the premiership you have to replace championship quality players with premiership ones. This costs money - usually about £25m or a bit more. You need a modicum of ...

Mcarthy Kelly Morrison Mariappa Gunter Mcleary Akpan Karacan Macanuff Blackman LeFondre Mid table mediocracy Feds, Kebe, Pearce Pog to stay in premiership. Hunt, Leigerwood to another championship side . Church to a 2nd division side. Harte and Shorey retire. Mr Mad persuades the Russians to stay do...

Re: Where was Guthrie again?!

If BM doesn't rate him why did he buy him? Has to be a problem if he's not even on the bench. Cant think the pregnancy is the problem if he can take time to go training every day surely he could play at home! I think BM is out of his depth with the tactics. Took too long to realise we needed to swit...

Re: Team for Everton

Quite right Ian Royal. Whatever is said Pearce will take a back seat now because Brian rates Morrison highly and he wants to repay loyalty and he thinks he is a better player. I think it will be almost the same team with Hunt replacing Pog.

It will be Hunt up front on his own and don't be surprised to see Morrison in and Pearce on bench again.

Look at the fixtures

If you look at the rest of the fixtures for the season you will see that the chances of survival now are minimal. Unless we see one of Newcastle, Southampton or Villa implode we have almost no chance. If you calculate on the basis that we do quite well and others perform averagely this is the final ...

Re: FAO Brian

What we lost when we dropped Pearce was communication at the back.I disagree with some of the comments about Leitgerwood. If he was carrying an injury why did he play him at Man utd. He looked very tired from the start. Why are we playing Karacan who offers no creativity instead of Guthrie (his wife ...

Re: Hammonds negotiating skills

Hammond was an average keeper but a better F.Director. I have to apologise for starting this thread as I was concerned that we may have been missing targets due to an unrealistic attitude to buying players in the premiership. Our attempts to get Siggy probably show that we are serious about staying ...

Re: Hammonds negotiating skills

For a guy who's done RFC proud and brought in numerous brilliant signings at the right prices, I would say he's certainly the man for us and has brilliant negotiating skills. Arsenal also rate him highly enough to have made an approach It that the Arsenal that won't spend any money and loses all its...

Re: Hammonds negotiating skills

Well lets just see what happens in the next few days. If we get the right people in then I will withdraw any question of his methods. We are not far off having that good team that can stay in the premiership. No I dont want the club to spend unrealistic amounts but how about the realism of going dow...

Hammonds negotiating skills

Is it time to question Nicky Hammond's skills at negotiating? If we believe some of the paper talk we seem to always offer figures either well below or just below the asking price. That seems sensible but on occasions you cant always get a bargain deal. Again if we believe what's reported we have of...

Re: Are we falling into the same trap?

Lovely sentiments but all businesses have to invest, sometimes that is significant. Do we really want to lose the likes of Kebe, Feds, Pearce, Guthrie, Pog et al who will all want to stay Premiership footballers. Do we want to lose the extra £20m next year and the next . Just look at Bolton, Blackbu...
