Re: Record Watch 23/24

When there were two types of leagues there wasn't any semi professional teams as no player was allowed to be paid in the amateur clubs/league. There were allowed to be paid for "expenses", which I think became such a minefield that Amateur was dropped by the FA and allowed all clubs to pay...

Re: Record Watch 23/24

When I was a lot younger there were professional and Amateur leagues. The difference was in the latter, the players did not get paid and in the professional leagues they did. My dictionary states the difference between the two is :- Amateur "a person who engages in a pursuit, especially a sport...

Re: The Magic Number Thread

I don't know about no magic number malarkey. My method is to wait until the end of the season and see where we are in the table. Works every time. Not if points deductions come into play….. I'm not aware of deductions being applied retrospectively after the last game of the season. I hope I'm not w...

Re: Record Watch 23/24

If Leicester were to win all their remaining matches they will equal 106 points. If they were deducted points will they still be equal with us or will they forfeit any claim on the record. I know it is not likely, but just wondering. In the meantime Sir Steve, get ready to fill that glass with wine...

Re: Who do we want to play next season?

I will wait for two things to happen, before I commit to an answer.

The EFL allows us to amass enough points to not be relegated,

The sale to be confirmed and Dai Yongge is a thing of the past.

Green TBF we pass the baton on at that point, albeit we're still invested supporters from the sidelines.

Which group(s) will the baton be passed onto?

Re: Have your go at being ITK

i have it on good authority, (my daughter's husband's, mother-in-law's husband told me) that the Wycombe's owner told a few mates of his in the US that Reading is up for sale and encouraged them to buy it as a bargain price. So expect a surprise group of people unknown at this time to be the new own...

Did Zing pay for his 51% and did he get it back or forfeited it when that share reverted to SJM? It's something I have wondered before but never checked it out.

Re: Derby away parking fine

As there is, no doubt, a time limit to appeal you could try appealing to Parking Eye. You never know, if it is a scam, and they have a few people who say the same thing, they may cancel the "fine".

All the buyers pull out of talks, At the end of the season Dai says he can't afford to keep us afloat any longer and liquidates the club. HNA goes into meltdown and an attempt to form a Phoenix Club does not rise from the ashes.

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Some are talking about Bearwood and the Academy being too expensive in L1 but I disagree. Surely the Academy can be a very profitable entity if you have owners with money. The likes of Nelson Abbey could have been sold in a couple of years for millions if he kept progressing as he was let alone Vic...

Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

This latest news has come from a Nigel Howe statement, I believe. I now expect a statement to be issued by Pang on Monday "Mr Dai can confirm that he has sold the Stadium to a mate, and is now looking to secure a buyer for the Club."
