Does anybody have any video footage that they taped from this era?

I've got some 'coast to coast' footage of seasons 91/92 & 92/93 and could arrange a swap deal.

That Bolton home game of 95 is still my favourite game of all time. You'll never get that kind of atmosphere generated at a Reading home game again. Me too. It was the Friday night factor that made the big difference. I can picture in mind so clearly the carnage on the Southbank when Nogan netted t...

Bikey - DEFINITELY must stay - anyone who wants him to go after his performance against Charlton needs a brain transplant. He doesn't know where to stand on the pitch! I'm sorry, but I think it's you who needs the brain transplant! Remind me how Darren Bent managed to fair up against Bikey o...

Out: Sodje, Halls, Oster. Halls is a no brainer, Sodje and Oster are not good enough at this level. Def keep: gunnarsson, DLC. DLC can also play left back remember, we dont have much cover there. Not Sure: Bikey, Long. Long needs a season at Championship level i think to see what he's made of. At th...

Re: ESPN Classic from 1983

Just been watching West Ham v Arsenal from 1983. And afterwards Bob Wilson, on an MOTD re-run, mentioned a Reading v Oxford FA Cup replay with the winners going to Chesterfield or Burnley. Anyone recall the outcome? We lost our 2nd rnd replay 0-3 at the Manor. We lost at home to Bishops Stortford t...

The onus is with the team taking the penalty kick. I disagree. The hungary & palace keeper kyrali has saved about 50% of the pens he has faced by all accounts. Reyna saves a huge % as well. Thats no fluke. saving penalties is a skill. Marcus just isn't very good at that part of his game.

Great memories. I was still at school and made my mum queue up all afternoon for tickets! Surely Gilkesy broke the land speed record on more than one occasion that day. I think its difficult for our younger fans to appreciate just how big a day that was for Reading. In 1988 the only way you club got...

We've got a decent run in, 4 home games and 3 away games, 2 of the away games in Andorra and Estonia where we should pick up maximum points. There was an improvement from the Croatia defeat in October, neither side created much but it's a good point and now we must win Wednesday night. It's not wor...

I hope we qualify, draw a big team in the 1st rnd (Milan, Fiorentina, Valencia, A & R Madrid, B Munich are all Uefa Cup possibles) and go out narrowly. so it doesnt screw up our league season.

Looks like Coppell agrees on this season being better than last season. We were 25/1 to win the title last season. We were a 5/4 ON to stay up this season with more or less the same squad. I think Coppell is just wisely talking up a mid table finish to deflect all the talk about a UEFA Spot.

Why slate the original poster when he's just trying to create some debate? Maybe we should look at it this way. Which of the following do you prefer: a) winning the championship, breaking all records, on the pitch, open top bus, or b) mid table in the Prem and skint for the previlage, and major has...

I would be shocked if he was still here next season, we're obviously going to sign Bikey, So Sonks, Ivar, Bikey, Doobs are all natural center halfs ahead of of Sodje. The fact they play Bryn out of position rather than Sodje says a lot. Add to that Alex Pearce and maybe a big money buy in the summe...

we are def not top.

Liverpool are top i believe, with us and Villa not far behind.

If we finish 2nd to Liverpool, do we still go into the hat?

I think come the end of the season we will look back and think that we have def missed Sonko. His absence coincided with an 'easy' set of fixtures, which has made it look like we haven't missed him. The same could be said of Doyle. Im not a Bikey fan. Whilst some of his stuff has been good, he is n...

The bet for me is to get high on the total goals market. You can buy with IG Index at 2.8. Based on our previous games and the previous game at the mad stad, there could easily be 5 or 6 goals in this match. Especially if we line up with a 442. Worth hanging on till late to see our line up though, i...
