Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

My Palace supporting mate reckons its because there's no money for bringing in players because of the stadium revamp. Hodgson should just have gone in on a short term contract, steered them away from relegation and walked off into the sunlit uplands last summer. Instead he's basically done a Warnock...

Re: Rival Watch

NathStPaul We are essentially safe now, we can start looking up. Selles has stabilised the club.

I wouldn't be too confident about that. Another lot of unpaid wages or points deduction will quickly shatter that stability and that no fault of Selles or the players.

LOL at them setting off the bubble machine for the start of the second half when they're 4-0 down.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

From Despair To Where? He's only there til the end of the season. Would be madness to offer him an extension.

You say that but its happened pretty much every time he's taken a job in the last decade. See also Hodgson at Palace for further details.

Re: The Manager Sack Race/Merry-go-Round

Is Warnock still living in Plymouth? Its almost like Mrs Warnock can take a couple of months of Neil's latest retirement before she snaps and tells him to find a new job at least 200 miles away. Take it he's on for an avoiding relegation bonus, then an 18 month contract followed by half-arsing it f...

Re: An irrational hatred of Luton

MK Dons would be the more obvious ground share if they needed to wouldn't it?

Can we at let Monlouis have a pre-match warmup before we declare him a substantial downgrade.

Re: An irrational hatred of Luton

The only people we should be angry at are the people that have run the club for the last decade or so. Nobody else. Definitely not Luton, if anything they've probably done us a favour by giving us a bit of money now rather than waiting until the summer to see if we go properly bust or not. Don't eve...

This should be tempered slightly by the fact that footballers seems to have kids at a much younger age than normals.

Silver Fox Owen Beck is Ian Rush's great nephew too

All of a sudden I feel every single one of my 52 years, unless Owen is a star performer in their U7s team.

Re: Weekend Football

To do it four times in a single game is shit finishing. C4Y I hope Nunez does end up scoring a bucket load of goals as I really like him as a player. His work rate is superb and he never seems to let his head drop when he's not scoring. Very Bobby Firmino-esque at the moment in that he's not gettin...

Re: Taking shirt off whilst scoring debate

Taking shirt off should be an instant red, players have had long enough to learn they're not supposed to do it.

Ok with lifting shirt up to display a message.

Is the Guinea derby always a bit spicy? Reckon he'd have got away with it if he'd made a ball shaped gesture with his hands.

Re: VAR

20 minutes into the game Genk are awarded a penalty, its saved but they score the rebound. VAR tells the ref to disallow it because the player who scored the rebound was just inside the penalty area when the penalty was first taken. VAR didn't notice that some opposition players were also inside th...

Re: AFCON

End of the Gambia v Cameroon match is mental. Cameroon were 1-2 down with minutes to go. Now winning 3-2 and Gambia have just had a goal disallowed for a deliberate handball, and you won't see a more obvious handball, that somehow the ref misses and VAR had to give.
