Re: Anyone else concerned

Indeed. I saw it suggested that debts and spending on Infrastructure are one and teh same thing. Clearly I was unaware that debts don't carry over from season to season and cover additional spending on your infrastructure. Not what I said. I said that the spending on the infrastructure is already i...

Re: 6.7 million profit

That's illogical. Would you feel better if the club was making huge profits yet "constantly asking fans to spend quite high percentages of their annual income on season tickets". Not quite what I meant. What I was trying to say is that it would surely be better for the club to adopt a mor...

Re: Anyone else concerned

we have generated £45m of income in profits, player sales and parachute payments. Yes, as Ian mentions we have made losses, erm business 101 for you sir. I was referring to the previous seasons as mentioned by Ian - businesses which have made losses cannot always expect to recover all of those loss...

Re: Anyone else concerned

It's this whole "£11m to balance the books" that is the concern. As I posted elsewhere, since being in the prem, we have generated £45m of income in profits, player sales and parachute payments. Yes, as Ian mentions we have made losses, but to point to infrastructure as a separate issue is...

Re: Watford Players

Mind you how much do you really need more attacking players? Given we failed to go up almost entirely as a result of problems in attack I'd say it's the area we need to shake things up the most ! Sort of disagree here. The best attackers in the world would have struggled to score for us in the seco...

Franchise FC
Don't Sheff Utd have a large wad coming from Wet Sham ?

Yes, I believe it's around £20m over 4 seasons. So overall not a massive per-season difference, but enough to give them some/more clout in the same market we are in.

Re: RUMOUR - Andrew Surman

My maths is poor, but this is how I see it: £13m - profit from being in the Prem over 2 seasons £10m - sales of Kitson, Shorey, Sonko £11m - Prem parachute 1 £11m - Prem parachute 2 ------- £45m - Total Plus potentially £10m - sales of Doyle, Shunt, Harper Now I know all about the fact we don't get ...

Re: Back from the Bristol City Game

Yet another dirty team that had a fat lump playing up front on his own. I'm fed up with this division, and quite frankly i'm bored of the current team. Harper was yet again shite, Marek must, must, must start the next game....he looked 100x better than anyone else on the pitch when he came on today...

Re: Hunt dissapointed

Vision and cmonurz have it right - out of all the stuff Hunt says, the only comments that ring particularly true, as coming from his heart, are the ones that if he was worth £5m someone would have paid it, and that he will be redoubling his efforts for RFC in the coming months. That's the Stephen H...

Re: Dave Mooney is Signing

My worry now is two fold. Firstly that Mooney looks a little lightweight and scrawny to be the physical target capable of holding up the ball that many of us have been calling for, and secondly, that we're seeing a total dismantling of this squad without the suitable replacement and overhaul that i...

Re: RUMOUR - Sidwell to return to Reading

Fair enough, but compilations are very selective and I am quite sure that the DVD of 2007/8 will show that Hunt was instrumental in many of our best moments last season. True, but I think the critical difference is that this season, there were far, far fewer of those best moments. And I think Sidwe...

Re: RUMOUR - Sidwell to return to Reading

Absence has certainly made the heart grow fonder in Sidwell's case, because he could have done a job for us in midfield last season without a doubt that MIGHT have kept us up. But let's get real, he really ain't all that - whatever anyone chooses to remember, he had a very average season for us in ...

If you want a real sense of "pot" and "kettle", have a look at this - http://www.thefootballnetwork.net/main/s237/st124233.htm Remind me, which team was it that really started the total devalution of the competition by not even taking part one year so they could take the money an...

Foster Wheeler Park & Ride

Sorry for asking as no doubt this has been asked before (I only have time to search about 4 pages back!) but I plan to use the FW Park & Ride tonight as £10 in the Speedway car park has put me off, and I have a few questions. 1. What time does it open? 2. How frequent are the shuttles to the St...

Of course, the fact of the matter is none of us know what Sidders' departure will mean until the first month of the season has been and gone. I will admit to being a little apprehensive though. Not because I subscribe to the fan club as I don't think Sidwell is anywhere near as good as he (and the ...

Incidentally the documents are back on the RBC site if anyone is interested http://documents.reading.gov.uk/AnitePublicDocs/ OMG  We're moving to Kenavon Drive? Is this so that Seoul doesn't have to drive as far to the ground, lazy so-and-so. Typical of the club not to tell us. Coppell out!

Nah, Adrian is one of the beebs top presenters. Always comes across as genuine and makes no bones about the fact he's not an expert. He's next in line for Lineker's job when the inevitable happens and he defects to Sky.
