Panas We'd sold 700 as of this afternoon, according to the TO.

Not as bad as I thought. We took ~600 (IIRC) to Stoke last season, so that's the 'new ground factor' (for many) at play.

New ground and we might actually win an away game for a change

Re: MATCHWATCH : Southampton (h)

I’ve never seen a meaningful preseason friendly. For a start we are playing catch up we have a new manager new players coming all the time, so I really would not be too bothered about this game. I remember in the early 80s we played West Bromwich Albion at Elm Park it was when Ron Atkinson was manag...

Re: Sam Smith confimred

See my last post. Loan them out and get the other clubs to cover the wages then sell them when they return This is what Chelsea do with some success so not that crazy a notion. Chelsea don't tend to sign random cast-offs on free transfers. They pay fees in the range of about £5m to £20m for players...

He has not been prolific for Cambridge until the second half of last season when he hit a hot spell, and some good goals amongst them.

Re: Will we exist as a club 1 year from now?

Of course. After the club folds in September the ground and training ground will be sold for housing to pay our debts too the HMRC. We will reform as AFC Reading in the 7th tier Thames Valley League playing Ascot and Windsor. We will ground share with Maidenhead until a new site can be found to buil...

Re: Season Tickets 23/24

I don’t see the point of opes The Eamon Dolan stand. Would save money on policing match day staff. If by some miracle we have some bigger gates we can open it. People have season tickets there (1,220 according to the figures above) and trying to relocate STHs elsewhere is always very messy and very...

Re: Season Tickets 23/24

I was phoned by the club asking if I would be renewing. And I just said as it was. I love the club but with no manager, no players, coming in, and the distinct possibility that the club would be going out of business. That reluctantly after 25 years I won’t be. I will still go to games when I can. B...

Re: Reading FC Womens World

I watched the woman’s cup final and Alex Scott said referring to the big crowd this is the normal now for woman’s football. Utter rubbish England and big games between big clubs yes. But the WSL is at best div 2. Even big spending Chelsea who have there own ground get about 3k hardly enough to cover...

Re: Do the people of Reading care?

Well I have always had soft spot for Brighton as my mum came from West Sussex and remember going to the Goldstone when Peter Ward was scoring for fun. I only wish we were half as well run as them. But as mentioned they have been through the mire, playing at Gillingham and then Withdean. And look at ...

Millwall away in the Cararbo cup safe to say are proud record of being dumped out in the first round will continue. At least we can concentrate on avoiding relegation.
