Re: TAKEOVER *NOT* CONFIMRED

Thinking about Bearwood, Is it theoretically possible to have two teams train at the same location? Is it big enough? Obviously not league rivals, but if Brentford need somewhere for a couple of seasons for their first team then maybe the money would be handy. There are enough pitches but realistic...

Re: Mark Bowen

Remain absolutely convinced that whenever a big decision needs to be made, Bowen's input is largely limited by those above. Think he's done a lot of decent stuff in extremely tough circumstances. Wilder was his man and Dai, Pang, Kia, whoever vetoed it, preferring a young, shiny, continental PL coac...

Re: Weekend Football

A fair way to go in this match of course, but I cannot get my head around how different the football is from Spurs this season. Chalk and cheese. Not even ten games into Postecoglou's reign Interesting segment on MNF, Gary O'Neil made the point that what is difficult about playing against Spurs thi...

Good day out though - prematch refreshments at the Pride o'Spitalfields, The Kings Arms, The Camel, The Palm Tree then Leyton Star and The Birkbeck after. Good pubs, some great, 5km walk in total. Went to the Palm Tree post-match. Properly interesting pub that. Also went to the Morgan Arms and Lord...

Re: Potential New Owners

SJM interview on BBCRB: - Changed his tune; no longer defending Dai, - Sounds pretty desperate about the situation, fears receivership - Howe is out trying to sell the club and there is interest - Thinks club could be a bargain and £20m could be enough. Obviously his figure well below that of the A...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Northampton Town (a)

Northampton is not a gem of the UK countryside. There's a huge tower and light industrial estates going west from the station. It all opens out into a quite enormous retail park. The huge Wagamamas overlooking the ground looked a safer bet for a solid evening out (until I got told it hadn't opened ...

Norfolk Royal Surely Microsoft which has it’s HQ in Reading would be interested in a goodwill gesture of some sort.

May still be in Reading, but it's hardly used. Flogged off half their campus ages ago and most staff, even Reading-based, prefer the Paddington office.

Re: CONFIMRED - Paul Ince sacked

Would agree with all that. The frustration came when there were glimpses of a decent attacking side. Fourth game of last season, Blackburn at home is one of my favourite games in recent years. By the time we played them away in March near the end of his reign, the bulk of the team was the same (Forn...

Indeed. Could see Al-Ittihad upping their bid, especially if the stories about Jota and Benzema are true.

150m has got to have been very tempting. If only there was young right-sided attacker, ideally based in the NW, available? :?

3points Interesting to note Southend's 10 point deduction (albeit from the National League not the EFL) for repeated non-payment of HMRC liabilities.

Thank god they got city status rather than us, or we'd be four points below the bottom four.

Buckingham Group, who built the Bearwood training ground, and currently working on the Liverpool's Anfield Road stand and Northampton's East Stand, have gone into administration. They were already a couple of months behind on the Anfield schedule.

Re: Green park station/south Reading station

Think it was a 2 carriager. Surprisingly large numbers of fans exited through Green Park and I did think it might get tight on the train, but quite a few of those looked to have parked in the construction site car park just before the station. In the end, there was plenty of room on the train. Bough...
