Re: January Window

Definitely need 2/3 players that can be consistently available now for ourselves between now and the end of the season. A full back, a creative midfielder/wide player perhaps who can impact games and another forward. Get Rafael and Puscas out, Araruna can fill in a lot of positions, I'd hold him un...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

Just read the replies, seems I forgot the free header from 6 yards out, yes that was poor really but other than that, I thought we were generally pretty decent set pieces wise considering how poor we usually are. Davies' goal was just a case of him wanting it more. An early jump made it so he got ab...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

The zonal marking hasn't worked for us but for all the set pieces Derby had yesterday, we defended the initial phase well. It was an individual error that lead to their first goal rather than a clear tactical issue.

Re: Pauno in or out poll mk2

I honestly don't think sacking the manager is the answer either. Given the shape of our squad and our current financial situation I don't think there will be many managers out there now that would be able to do better in this state. The problems lie much further than Pauno, it just reflects on the p...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

None of them have played q competitive game for about three weeks. No one expects players to be fully fit on training alone at the start of the season. And if you miss some of that training isolating, and especially with something like a heavy cold or worse, it's entirely believable they aren’t mat...

Re: Pauno out

That's what I mean re Drinkwater. I'm genuinely struggling to think who the aggressive characters in this squad are, if any. Whilst there are obvious downsides to having an aggressive character or two, they can very often prove to the backbone of the team. Unfortunately we haven't recruited one as ...

Re: Pauno out

I’m still Pauno in…but more because I don’t think the club will do a decent job of finding someone to get us out of the mess we’re in. The club is a shambles from to to bottom. ANOTHER summer reset is coming isn’t it… I'm all for the summer reset. I don’t think anyone we panic bring in now i...

Re: Pauno out

One very good save from Southwood against Fulham in the last minute from the trick being repeated a fourth time too The one goal leads we maintained against Preston, Boro and Cardiff also involved us hanging onto the skin of our teeth too. The obsession with retreating into our shell once we go ahe...

Re: Are you confident we would appoint a good replacement manager?

Not actually sure how changing the manager helps us in the short or long term really. With a lack of players available and without a penny to spend in this window, it's hardly like a new manager can come in, bring in 6/7 recruits and fire us up the league like what McCarthy did with Cardiff last sea...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

A lot of players have underperformed but I can't blame them entirely given how inconsistent our season has been. Pauno does have a point in his post-match press conference, something like 7 senior players during pre-season (with Covid disrupting that as well), the injuries throughout the season ever...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

Morrison said his comeback was delayed by a month as well. McIntyre the same. Joao was 3 months originally and it’s getting towards 4. Drinkwater and ejaria were minor muscle injuries about a month ago. Rino - god knows. Tetek, Yiaodm and Moore new injuries? It’s possible some of these are Covid re...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

Yeah agree with this. TDB is not a CDM so why play him there? Yes was concerned soon as the team was announced, as clear he’d play there I think he’s been pretty poor all season in that position - gives the ball away so often - his touch isn’t good enough He has looked decent at times in an attacki...

Re: MATCHWATCH : Derby County (h)

Thought our midfield went missing in the second half, we couldn't retain possession and barely won any second balls. The pattern of the game meant that Derby were always likely to get one and once they did, we all knew what would happen. A part of me is actually quite pleased we managed to get a poi...

Re: Players you'd like us to sign thread

Hello, first time posting after the Royal Rendezvous, which was another very successful Royals forum has currently gone haywire in an attempt to improve their facilities when using the site. So for the time being and hopefully the future, I shall be a part of the "Hob Nob Anyone?" forum fo...
