Re: Genuine question - how did the pundits know we were likely to be fighting relegation?

Pretty sure most pundits predicted us to be mid table.

What do you seriously expect Gourlay to say in a radio interview?

Re: Gourlay out.

I suspect tonight is the last straw but does anyone expect the chief executive to publicly hang the manager out to dry pre match? Absolutely deluded if you think that is the case. He has to publicly back the manager and manage expectation. If the owners are coming to the next match, it wouldn't surp...

Re: Gourlay out.

That is true but what do you expect him to say? "Yeah, it's shit and we're going to sack him if we don't win".

I bet most of the people complaining about him don't even understand what his role at the club is.

Re: Gourlay out.

To be honest, I've been on here getting on for 20 years and one thing I've learned is that when times are bad and you need a clueless idiot to come on here spouting shite then 2 world wars, 1 world cup is your go to guy.

Not a oxf*rd peep from him last season.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Birmingham City (h) sponsored by 5 games without a win

This has the same gut-feel as the awful 1-2 defeat to Scunthorpe close to the end of Bodgers' reign. I would never overtly call for a Reading boss to be fired, but surely Stam's position is now untenable. This reminds me of 2007-08. Comfortably mid table coming up to Christmas then our form collaps...

I'd still rather give Stam time but as is the way, there's hardly a surfeit of outstanding candidates available at the moment.

If we're going to sack him, do it now whilst Warburaton is available

Re: Who could replace Stam?

The issue with Parky is that throughout his management career, he's been able to get teams out of League 1 but struggled to keep them in the Championship. He's also a bit of long ball merchant so there's an obvious stick to beat him with If he isn't immediately successful. Whilst he'll instill a bit...

Re: We're ManchesteROFL United, we do what we want

It's normally two and a half years for Mourinho to have a massive flounce against the owners and get the sack, isn't it?

Less than a year to go. I'm going for November 19th.

More likely to go for Koeman or De Boer of any of the (recently) British based manager.

Suffice to say, if Mourinho was relying on Hal Robson-Kanu, Man Utd wouldn't be 2nd.

Re: Dave Edwards' book

Heard him talking about this book on the radio last week. An articulate person who probably struggles with conversation on long coach journeys up North with the not-so-articulate normal footballers. Think footballers are as articulate or not as the rest of the population* really. However, they're e...

Actually, I would like to thank Jose Mourinho for drawing my attention to the ribbon campaign in support of Catalonia.

Without his invaluable input into highlighting this campaign I'd have been none the wiser.

So Caulker is one QPR's big earners but would be available for not a lot of money?

How exactly does that work?

Re: Why doesn't the MadStad host concerts and music events?

Why choose Bolton when Manchester is 12 minutes away and full of venues Lots of reasons really. If you are looking for an outdoor arena, Old Trafford and The Etihad are too big, the cricket ground is in use, Gigg Lane and Spotlands too small, the JD, isn't an enclosed bowl so would be shit for gigs...

Re: Why doesn't the MadStad host concerts and music events?

Gigs and concerts can only really be hosted in the post season and with a full season of football and rugby, the pitch needs time for maintenance and recovery. 1 gig would take a week out of post season.

Re: MATCHWATCH : Cardiff City (h) sponsored by a nice quiet evening out

Scutterbucketz Colin looks like he’s enjoying his evening in Reading as usual.

Fair play to him though, he did say in the build up to the match that we were a much better team than Cardiff.
