Re: Charlie Watts - great journo

Who was the guy responsible for the Chronicle's RFC Hooligan story which contributed towards the papers demise? Whatever happened to him? But yeh CW seems decent, fair play to the OP here for calling it out too. Maurice O'Brien was the name. Wasn't he also a Gooners Fan? He did not cause the papers...

Re: RUMOUR - Paolo Hurtado

I am sure the owners and in particular Pieroj are having a lot of influence on whom we buy and sell. I am certain I read somewhere that Brian had no say in the sale of Blackman, it was forced on him. That was a quote from Brian himself! You are right Brian had no say in Blackman's departure. Blackm...

Re: RUMOUR - Paolo Hurtado

I'm guessing we didn't spend too much on English lessons for Hurtado. The players earn enough in wages to pay for their own lessons, don't they? If a player really wants to make a go of it in another country surely they would do all they could to make their stay a bit more comfortable for themselve...

Re: Orlando Vs Kermorgant

2 months in the job and Brian has already forced out our two best players. Shambles I assume you mean Blackman and Sa. Blackman was already on his way out before BM arrived. He refused to accept the contracts offered to him by the club for several months the board decided to get money for him while...

Re: Your General Feeling Towards The Club?

Very negative , I feel the club has taken a backward step reappointing McDermott. I had high hopes but the new signings and sticking with our number 9 baffles me . I have been supporting Reading for over 50 years now and never have I felt so negative about the team . Selling Sa has not made my feel...

Re: Charlie Watts - great journo

Neither Watts or Fordham are a patch on Roger Ware! I believe he was a Reading supporter and wrote for the Reading Chronicle or was it the Berkshire Chronicle still at the time? Anyone else remember him?

Re: George Evans

Confirmed on Reading Fc's website, Evans has signed a three and half year deal. BM saw him while scouting for Arsenal, so it seems as though it is a player he wanted. No mention of a fee, though.

Re: Would you swap Madejski Stadium for Elm Park?

Elm Park was where we could watch the best team in the world, (according to us Biscuitmen fans anyway). Now we are at the Mad Stad. we can watch the best team in much more comfort, getting to the stadium and parking is a bit easier as well, crowds are bigger, the class of football has been raised in...

Re: Something wrong at the club?

There are too many loan players. The players that were brought into the club during the summer, may be good as individuals but do not appear to be team players. The rebuilding needs to start now for next year. Bring back Samual for a start, as we need players who want to play for the club and not ju...

I think it is going to be 3-0. Scorers Blackman (OG) Pearce (OG) Baird gives us a penalty, Vydra scores from the spot. Well, I can dream can't I?

Re: Pearce to return?

Have you heard about the game journalists play at this time of year? They have three bags, one of which contains names of players, bag 2 holds club names, the third holds two counters, one marked loan the other sale. They pull out one from each bag and hey, presto they are then "linked" an...

Re: CONFIMRED - Blackman to Derby

It seems as though he has not signed a contract after five months of talks. It therefore appears, to me, that his mind has been elsewhere for the last few months. Could being preoccupied with more money at another club, be why he went on a barren run, that is until the transfer window opened? As he ...

Re: RUMOUR - Blackman to Wednesday

Blackman to Sheffield Wednesday? Is this from the same media that said Clarke had GONE to Fulham? Do not believe any rumours from any TV station or newspaper until it is confirmed. If he has been offered a contract by the Royals and has not signed , then let him go now while we can get money for him...

Re: SPACULATION - Peter Crouch

Shit in the air but surprisingly good with the ball at his feet for someone who's 6ft 7" and I think he'd have a field day in the Championship. A cheeky loan deal maybe otherwise WCBAFMP Please! No more loan deals, we already have too many. Besides, if his missus is in the stands watching him,...
